Background: Sleep disturbance and insomnia are common adverse events in patients with breast cancer (BC). Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment for sleep disturbance includes acupuncture, acupressure, auricular acupressure/auricular acupuncture, and Qigong. However, the specific efficacy of these TCM treatment remains unclear.

This study aims to determine the prevalence of CAM use and its associated factors among patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) in Taiwan.
Methods: This quantitative study was conducted from August 2022 to July 2024 in the HD unit at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.
Background: The association between Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) and the risk of developing major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in patients with dialysis hypotension is unclear and has not yet been investigated. This study aimed to determine whether CMH intervention could reduce the risk of MACEs in patients with dialysis hypotension.
Methods: The study data from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database were analyzed to clarify this association.
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions plays a crucial role in slowing down the rise of the global temperature. One of the viable options is to employ renewable energy sources such as alcohols that can be produced from biomass. Specifically, one of the most common alcohols is isopropanol (IPA).

Prolonged use of analgesics is often associated with increased adverse events. Juan Bi Tang (JBT) is an ancient decoction of Chinese traditional medicinal plants commonly used to treat spasms and pain in the shoulder and upper arm, and it is popularly believed to have favorable outcomes in Asian populations.

However, some patients still experience adverse reactions to allopurinol and turn to Chinese medicine as an alternative. Therefore, it is crucial to design a preclinical study to obtain more convincing data on the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout with Chinese medicine.

However, the incidence is higher in male patients with primary or secondary infertility, with up to 35 to 80% of varicocele cases occurring in this population. The clinical manifestations of varicocele typically include the presence of an asymptomatic mass that feels like a "bag of worms", chronic scrotal pain, and infertility.

PEI or PEG with different molecular weights was mixed with dopamine at different concentrations to obtain various PDA/PEI or PDA/PEG codepositions. These codepositions were soaked in silver nitrate solution to observe AgNPs generated on the surface and then to examine the catalytic activity of AgNPs for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol.

Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted in people diagnosed with CRC who were treated for the side effects of their chemotherapy. Participants received cupping therapy 3 times a week for 10 consecutive weeks at our traditional Chinese medicine ward.
The graphene/poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) composites are a promising candidate for electronic, optoelectrical, and environmental applications. Understanding the mechanical degradation of PMMA-based materials is of practical importance in improving the reliability and lifespan of the associated structures and systems. In this study, we investigate the effects of functionalized graphene (FG) and UV irradiation on the stress-relaxation of PMMA.

The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the effectiveness of classic Chinese herbal formulae (CHF) Huang Qi Gui Zhi Wu Wu Tang (HQGZWWT) and Dang Gui Si Ni Tang (DGSNT) in the treatment of CINP.
Materials And Methods: Douleur Neuropathique 4 (DN4) and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General (FACT-G) questionnaires were rated at baseline and after 3-monthly CHF treatment.
Background: Dialysis-related myofascial pain in hemodialysis (HD) patients is an important issue that is associated with many other psychosomatic problems. Effective interventions are required to alleviate pain in this group. Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) may be a potential therapeutic treatment for reducing pain.

Although the surgical removal of stones is common, the recurrence rate remains high and it is therefore important to prevent the occurrence of kidney stones. We chose (AM), which is a traditional Chinese medicine, to study the prevention of urolithiasis using a model based on our previous screening of traditional Chinese herbs.

Patients with HTN are at higher risk for heart failure (HF). The currently available therapeutic approaches for HTN do not always optimally control blood pressure or are not suitable for hypertensive patients who have a higher number of comorbidities.

This trial investigated the analgesic efficacy of acupuncture on traumatic rib fracture. Patients with traumatic rib fracture were randomly assigned to traditional acupuncture (TA), laser acupuncture (LA) or sham laser acupuncture (SLA) groups in a 1:1:1 ratio.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula is widely applied in treating OM, but little substantial evidence exists to clarify it effects. The study intends to determine whether the TCM-based prescription in treating HNC with RT can improve the OM when compared with RT alone.

Chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) pain is often associated with reduced daily activity and quality of life in older adults, particularly those in rural areas.
Aims: This study investigated the pain experiences and coping strategies in rural older adults with MSK pain in Taiwan.

In this study, a polydopamine (PDA) and polyethyleneimine (PEI)-assisted approach was developed to generate well-distributed PDA/PEI/silver (PDA/PEI/Ag) nanocomplexes on the surfaces of commercial cellulose filter papers to achieve substantial bacterial reduction under gravity-driven filtration. PDA can bind to cellulose paper and act as a reducer to produce silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), while PEI can react with oxidative dopamine and act as a dispersant to avoid the aggregation of AgNPs. The successful immobilization of PDA/PEI/Ag nanocomplexes was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
