Background: In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have demonstrated remarkable efficacy across diverse malignancies. Notably, in patients with advanced gastric cancer, the use of programmed death 1 (PD-1) blockade has significantly prolonged overall survival, marking a pivotal advancement comparable to the impact of Herceptin over the past two decades. While the therapeutic benefits of ICIs are evident, the increasing use of immunotherapy has led to an increase in immune-related adverse events.

Background And Objective: Stent-assisted coil (SAC) embolization is a commonly used endovascular treatment for unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) but can be associated with symptomatic delayed intracerebral hemorrhage (DICH). Our study aimed to investigate the hemodynamic risk factors contributing to DICH following SAC embolization and to establish a classification for DICH predicated on hemodynamic profiles.

Methods: This retrospective study included patients with UIAs located in the internal carotid artery (ICA) treated with SAC embolization at our institution from January 2021 to January 2022.

A one-pot synthesis afforded a magnetic, crosslinked polymer adsorbent (m-P6) with a variety of functional groups to realize simultaneous adsorption of Cd, Pb, Hg, and As. The material was characterized by TEM-EDS, XRD, FT-IR, VSM, and XPS. Kinetic and isothermal analyses suggested mainly chemisorption processes of heavy metal ions that form multiple layers on heterogeneous surfaces.

Hepatic fibrosis is the pathological repair response of the liver to chronic injury; hepatic stellate cell (HSC) activation is the central link in the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis. Previously, we showed that kinetin, a plant cytokinin hormone, has a protective effect on CCl-induced liver injury in mice. However, the role of kinetin in liver fibrosis remains unclear.

PoDPBT, an O-benzoyltransferase belonging to the BAHD family, can catalyze the benzoylation of 8-debenzoylpaeoniflorin to paeoniflorin. PoDPBT is the first enzyme demonstrated to be involved in the modification stage of paeoniflorin biosynthesis. DFGGG, a new DFGWG-like motif, was revealed in the BAHD family.

Intraflagellar transport (IFT) is an essential condition for ciliogenesis. The primary cilia protrude like antennae and act as chemical or mechanical sensory organelles that coordinate specific receptor localization and signal transduction. IFT20 is the smallest molecule in IFT complex B, which is located in both the cilia and the Golgi complex.

Members of the interferon regulatory factor (IRF) gene family are crucial regulators of type I interferon signaling, which may play a role in the resistance of glioma to immune checkpoint blockade. However, the expression profiles, potential functions, and clinical significance of IRF family members remain largely unknown. Here, we examined IRF transcript levels and clinicopathological data from glioma patients using several bioinformatic databases, including ONCOMINE, GEPIA, TCGA, and cBioPortal.

Background: Without targets, triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) has the worst prognosis in all subtypes of breast cancer (BC). Recently, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 m (eIF3m) has been declared to be involved in the malignant progression of various neoplasms. The aim of this study is to explore biological functions of eIF3m in TNBC.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic role of Forkhead box A1 (FOXA1) in breast cancer and determine the relationship between FOXA1 and zinc finger of the cerebellum 1 (ZIC1). BCIP, GEPIA, and Oncomine databases were used to detect expression of FOXA1 and assess prognostic roles of FOXA1 and ZIC1 in invasive breast tumors. A total of 113 female invasive breast cancer cases were collected to investigate FOXA1 and ZIC1 expression via immunohistochemistry.

Eukaryotic initiation factor 3 subunit M (EIF3M) is required for key steps in the initiation of protein synthesis, and dysregulation of EIF3M is associated with tumorigenesis. This study aimed to explore the clinicopathological and prognostic role of EIF3M in patients with colon adenocarcinoma. A total of 82 pathology specimens, 20 freeze-thawed tumors and 80 healthy controls were used to investigate the expression of EIF3M in colon adenocarcinoma through immunohistochemistry, western blotting, RT-qPCR and ELISA.

Cilia are ubiquitous in mammalian cells. The formation and assembly of cilia depend on the normal functioning of the ciliary transport system. In recent years, various proteins involved in the intracellular transport of the cilium have attracted attention, as many diseases are caused by disorders in cilia formation.

In order to achieve rapid on-site screening and solve the problem of rapid pretreatment for the determination of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) in cereals by a portable electrochemical analyzer with disposable screen-printed electrodes (SPEs), a new reliable and simple extraction method for Pb and Cd in cereals was developed. The Pb and Cd in cereals were purified by a mixed solution of 1 mol L potassium iodide (KI)/5% vitamin C (VC)/ethyl acetate after being extracted by 10% HNO, which transfers the Pb and Cd into ethyl acetate after a reaction with KI-VC. Then, the Pb and Cd were eluted from ethyl acetate with 5% HNO and were determined by an electrochemical analyzer with screen printed electrodes.

The first formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of in situ generated azaoxyallyl cation with cyclic ketones has been developed using mild reaction conditions. A variety of spiro-4-oxazolidinones was obtained in excellent yields (up to 99%). The high efficiency of this process, coupled with the operational simplicity, makes it an attractive method for the synthesis of spiro-4-oxazolidinones.

Tetrapod gold nanocrystals, to be the core of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) nanoprobes, with tunable localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) from 650 nm to 785 nm in the Vis-NIR region have been successfully prepared by a facile seeded growth approach. The local electromagnetic field distribution and the huge extinction cross section of the tetrapod gold nanocrystals were simulated by a finite-difference time-domain method. Both the calculated and experimental results reveal that the LSPR property of the tetrapod gold nanocrystals is closely dependent on the morphology features of their tips, where a strong field enhancement appears.

The objective of the present research was to develop a nondestructive technique for the analysis of heavy elements of regulated substances in electrotechnical products using an XRF spectrometer. Reference samples were prepared within-house reference materials containing the elements Cr, Cd, Br, Pb, and Hg, and calibration curves of all elements exhibited a good linearity from 100 to 1 500 mg x kg(-1). Thus, the calibration curve method was effective in the determination of heavy elements in electrotechnical products.
