Development of antibody-detection ELISA based on beta-bungarotoxin for evaluation of the neutralization potency of equine plasma against Bungarus multicinctus in Taiwan.

Animal testing has been the primary approach to assess the neutralization potency of antivenom for decades. However, the necessity to sacrifice large numbers of experimental animals during this process has recently raised substantial welfare concerns. Furthermore, the laborious and expensive nature of animal testing highlights the critical need to develop alternative in vitro assays.

Role of IGFBP-2 in oral cancer metastasis.

Cancer metastasis is one of most main causes of failure in cancer treatment. Nonetheless, more than half of oral cancer patients were diagnosed as advanced oral cancer with dramatically decreased 5-year survival rate to lower than 20%, while the stages become more advanced. In order to improve oral cancer treatment, the identification of cancer metastatic biomarkers and mechanisms is critical.
