Visible-infrared compatible camouflage is significant to enhance the equipment survivability through counteracting the modern detecting and surveillance systems. However, there are still great challenges in simultaneously achieving multispectral camouflage with high transmittance in visible, low emissivity in the atmospheric windows and high emissivity in the non-atmospheric window, which can be attributed to the mutual influence and restriction within these characteristics. Here, we proposed an optically transparent infrared selective emitter (OTISE) composed of three Ag-ZnO-Ag disk sub-cells with anti-reflection layers, which can synchronously improve the visible transmittance and widen absorption bandwidth in the non-atmospheric window by enhancing and merging resonance response of multi-resonators.

Optical imaging systems, like microscopes, cameras, and telescopes, continue to expand the scope of human observation of the world. As one of the key indicators of imaging systems, the field-of-view (FOV) is often limited by coma aberration. Expanding it generally relies on a combination of complex lenses, leading to a bulky and cumbersome system.

With properties not previously available, optical metamaterials and metasurfaces have shown their great potential in the precise control of light waves at the nanoscale. However, the use of current metamaterials and metasurfaces is limited by the collective response of the meta-atoms/molecules, which means that a single element cannot provide the functionalities required by most applications. Here, we demonstrate for the first time that a single achiral nanoaperture can be utilized as a meta-macromolecule to achieve giant angular spin Hall effect of light.

We present a design for a sub-wavelength hole array (SHA) decorated with an electric resonance ring (ERR) to realize angle-insensitive extraordinary optical transmission (EOT) at 9.7 μm. A net electric resonance in the whole MM plane, induced by the counter-circulating LC loops in each MM unit-cell, is proposed to have the primary responsibility for the EOT.
