Objectives: This study investigates the clinical and patient-reported outcomes of full-endoscopic parotidectomy compared to the conventional approach.

Methods: Between July 2021 and December 2023, patients who underwent parotidectomy were prospectively enrolled and assigned to either the full-endoscopic parotidectomy group (Group I) or the conventional surgery group (Group II). Under the repeated action of aircraft taxiing load, the subgrade plastic deformation becomes the key factor affecting the service performance of the airfields when salinized silt is used to fill the subgrade. In this study, the dynamic triaxial tests were carried out on a region in the northern part of China to study the effects of different salt contents on the dynamic characteristics of silt under cyclic loading. A prediction model for the salinized silt dynamic strength with a plastic strain of 4% as the failure criterion for the subgrade was thus proposed.

Background: Ossifying fibroma is one of the common benign tumors that affect the appearance and functions of the jaw. The reconstruction of buccal-penetrating defects remains challenging. The present study aims to explore the application value of the lateral arm free flap (LAFF) on the reconstruction of buccal-penetrating defects with the hope of providing a better option for clinical practice. Endoscopic parotidectomy has the potential to become a reliable procedure for benign and low-grade malignant parotid gland tumors. Based on the previous literature review and our own clinical experience, we introduced in detail the surgical procedure of single incision-plus approach for gasless endoscopic parotidectomy. This method contributes a logical approach to achieving endoscopic resection of parotid gland tumor and preservation of facial nerve, which can be summarized into the following seven-step method: preoperative preparation; design of retroauricular-hairline incision and plus-incision; surgical cavities creation and coalescence; separation of surgical boundaries; separation and protection of the facial nerve trunk; processing of the branches of facial nerve; en bloc resection of the superficial parotid gland and tumor.

The epigenome, including DNA methylation, is stably propagated during mitotic division. However, single-cell clonal expansion produces heterogeneous methylomes, thus raising the question of how the DNA methylome remains stable despite constant epigenetic drift. Here, we report that a clonal population of DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1)-only cells produces a heterogeneous methylome, which is robustly propagated on cell expansion and differentiation.

The present study uses a method to address microvibrations effects on an optical satellite by combining simulations and experiments based on high-precision acceleration sensors. The displacement and angular displacement of each optical component can be obtained by introducing flywheel perturbation data from a six-component test bench to the finite element model of the optical satellite. Combined with an optical amplification factor inferred from the linear optical model, the pixel offset of the whole optical system is calculated.
