Background: For patients with severe neck angulation (SNA), hemodynamic and clinical outcomes following endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) are still unclear. This study aimed to explore the influence of SNA on hemodynamic and clinical outcomes following EVAR.

Methods: This study included a hemodynamic analysis and a retrospective cohort study from West China Hospital of Sichuan University between January 2011 and December 2020.

Currently, the displacement force of stent grafts is generally obtained using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), which requires professional CFD knowledge to perform the correct simulation. This study proposes a fast, simple, and clinician-friendly approach to calculating the patient-specific displacement force after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). Twenty patient-specific post-EVAR computed tomography angiography images were used to reconstruct the patient-specific three-dimensional models, then the displacement forces were calculated using CFD and the proposed approaches, respectively, and their numerical differences were compared and analyzed.

Purpose: To assess the predictive value of geometric parameters for type Ia endoleak (T1AEL) after endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and to determine the range of optimal oversizing ratio (OSR) in patients with an elliptical cross-section of the aneurysm neck.

Materials And Methods: A propensity score-matched case-control study was conducted. Case patients were those who were diagnosed with T1AEL and control patients were those who did not have T1AEL after endovascular aneurysm repair during the period from 2012 to 2018.

Cross-limb stent grafts for endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) are often employed for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) with significant aortic neck angulation. Neck angulation may be coronal or sagittal; however, previous hemodynamic studies of cross-limb EVAR stent grafts (SGs) primarily utilized simplified planar neck geometries. This study examined the differences in flow patterns and hemodynamic parameters between crossed and non-crossed limb SGs at different spatial neck angulations.

We theoretically and numerically investigate the ligh-matter interaction in a classic topological photonic crystal (PhC) heterostructure, which consists of two opposite-facing 4-period PhCs spaced by a dielectric layer. Due to the excitation of topological edge mode (TEM) at the interface of the two PhCs, the strong coupling between incident light and TEM produces a high quality resonance peak, which can be applied to many optical devices. As a refractive index sensor, it achieves a sensitivity of 254.

Experimentally observed magnetic properties are usually statistically averaged from bulk materials and information associated with the local chemical environment cannot be specified. Against this backdrop, we propose a theoretical strategy to provide an in-depth understanding of the multi-role for metrics that may contribute to the apparent magnetic moment of iron borides. In particular, we demonstrate this strategy through systematic manipulation of the iron/boron stoichiometry of six prototype iron borides to tune their associated local structural and electronic environment to further modulate the resultant magnetic moment.

Background/aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of postoperative adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with microscopic venous invasion.

Methodology: Data from 76 patients with HCC who underwent hepatectomy with or without postoperative adjuvant TACE between July 2005 and August 2010 were retrospectively reviewed. Kaplan-Meier method was used to compare survival between the groups and prognostic factors were evaluated by Cox proportional hazard model.

Aim: To determine a formula predicting the standard liver volume based on body surface area (BSA) or body weight in Chinese adults.

Materials And Methods: A total of 115 consecutive right-lobe living donors not including the middle hepatic vein underwent right hemi-hepatectomy. No organs were used from prisoners, and no subjects were prisoners.
