Van der Waals heterobilayers of transition metal dichalcogenides with spin-valley coupling of carriers in different layers have emerged as a new platform for exploring spin/valleytronic applications. The interlayer coupling was predicted to exhibit subtle changes with the interlayer atomic registry.
