Spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome (SANS) has been well documented in astronauts. However, its pathogenesis is not fully understood. New findings indicate the impaired outflow of the optic nerve cerebrospinal fluid may participate or contribute to some changes in SANS.

This study explored the differences in cell types between iPSCs and ESCs in the PD brain to provide a feasible theoretical basis for the improved use of iPSCs as a replacement for ESCs in treating PD. However, the role of anti-Mfa1 antibodies and the underlying protective mechanisms remain largely unexplored.

Background & Aims: Sleep disorders (SDs) are common in chronic liver diseases (CLDs). Some SDs arise from impaired internal clock and are hence circadian rhythm SDs (CRSDs). Bile acids (BAs), whose levels are increased in many CLDs, reciprocally interact with circadian rhythm.

The efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation for allergic rhinitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: This systematic review aims to synthesise findings from randomised, controlled trials and assess the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation in treating allergic rhinitis.

Methods: A thorough search was conducted across PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang, Chinese Scientific Journal, and Chinese Biomedical Literature databases from their inception until October 2023. The primary outcome measure was the total effective rate, with secondary outcomes including adverse events.

In situ monitoring of the uptake and transportation process of nano-pesticides during crop growth remains challenging thus far. In this report, the different three sizes of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy probes of nano-pesticides loaded with ferbam and acetamiprid are representative non-systemic or systemic pesticides, respectively. The probes were verified to have strong signals of the Raman spectrum enhancement effect.

Spore-forming bacteria (SFB), like Bacillus, are the gram-positive bacteria with broad-spectrum activity that is one of the commonly used strains of probiotics. However, these bacteria also have significant resistance. In this study, we systematically investigated pig manure, manure slurry and soil by 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing and traditional culture techniques.

Cadmium contamination poses a significant risk to soil ecosystems in certain parts of the world. Using eco-friendly fertilizers alongside beneficial microorganisms offers a viable solution to mitigate Cd pollution in agricultural soil. This study used an outdoor experiment to evaluate the impact of administering a Cd-immobilizing bacterial (Bacillus) inoculant with two biologically-enriched organic fertilizers (either fermentative edible fungi residue or fermented cow dung) on wheat plants and associated microbial populations in a field contaminated with Cd.

SSG-Net: A Multi-Branch Fault Diagnosis Method for Scroll Compressors Using Swin Transformer Sliding Window, Shallow ResNet, and Global Attention Mechanism (GAM).

The reliable operation of scroll compressors is crucial for the efficiency of rotating machinery and refrigeration systems. To address the need for efficient and accurate fault diagnosis in scroll compressor technology under varying operating states, diverse failure modes, and different operating conditions, a multi-branch convolutional neural network fault diagnosis method (SSG-Net) has been developed. This method is based on the Swin Transformer, the Global Attention Mechanism (GAM), and the ResNet architecture.

Pyrotinib plus capecitabine for patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer and brain metastases (PERMEATE trial): overall survival results from a multicenter, single-arm, two-cohort, phase 2 trial.

Background: The phase 2 PERMEATE study has shown the antitumor activity and safety of pyrotinib plus capecitabine in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive metastatic breast cancer and brain metastases. In this report, survival results were updated with extended follow-up.

Methods: Between January 29, 2019 and July 10, 2020, adult patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer who had radiotherapy-naïve brain metastases (cohort A, n = 59) or progressive disease after radiotherapy (cohort B, n = 19) were enrolled and received pyrotinib (400 mg once daily) and capecitabine (1000 mg/m twice daily on days 1-14 of each 21-day cycle) until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.
