This work aimed to identify the mechanisms by which taurine exerts its anti-obesity effects in the C57BL/6J ob/ob mice model and determine if taurine supplementation increases the amelioration of inflammation and lipogenesis linked genes in the adipose and liver tissues. Three groups of C57BL/6J mice were fed a standard chow diet for a period of 10 weeks the C57BL/6J normal group, the C57BL/6J ob/ob negative control group with no taurine intake and C57BL/6J ob/ob taurine group with taurine intake. Real time PCR was used to examine the gene expression profile in the experimental groups intrascapular brown adipose tissue (BAT), inguinal white adipose tissue (WAT) and liver.

Dgeo_0257 exhibited high DNA-binding affinity and formed a multimeric structure but lacked the conserved amino acid sequence for ferroxidase activity. In contrast, the Dgeo_0281 (DgDps1) protein was abundant in the early exponential phase, had a lower DNA-binding activity than Dgeo_0257, and was mainly observed in its monomeric or dimeric forms.

The genome of the radiation-resistant bacterium contains 19 types of insertion sequences (ISs), including 93 total transposases (Tpases) in 73 full-length ISs from the main chromosome and 2 mega plasmids. In this study, 68 ISs from the genome were extracted to implicate the earlier genome before its mutation by transposition of ISs. The total size of eliminated ISs from genome was 78.

Comparing the genomes of CF and non-CF PA isolates has great potential to identify the genetic basis of pathogenicity. To gain a deeper understanding of PA adaptation in CF airways, we performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on 1,001 PA genomes.

DksA1, an RNA polymerase-binding transcriptional regulator, plays a role in determining a number of phenotypes, including QS-mediated virulence. We therefore envisioned that DksA1 inhibitors may help to control P.

It is composed of two factors, (i) a nucleotide alarmone, guanosine tetra- and pentaphosphate ((p)ppGpp), and (ii) an RNA polymerase-binding protein, DksA, that regulates various phenotypes, including bacterial virulence. The clinically significant opportunistic bacterial pathogen possesses two genes, and , that encode DksA proteins.

There are many protection factors as enzymatic and nonenzymatic involved. One of them is intracellular redox potential as like thiol compounds including cysteine acts as primary protectant against oxidation stress.

This non-pigmented mutant cell subsequently displayed higher sensitivity to HO. While carotenoid has a role in protecting as scavenger of reactive oxygen species the reddish wild-type strain from radiation and oxidative stresses, it is hypothesized that the carotenoid biosynthesis pathway has been disrupted in the mutant cell.

The mechanisms by which gut microbes interact with intestinal pathogens remain largely unknown. Here we identify a commensal Escherichia coli strain whose expansion predisposes mice to infection by Vibrio cholerae, a human pathogen.

Alginate-overproducing mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa, responsible for chronic airway infections in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, is resistant to antibiotic treatments and host immune clearance. In this study, we performed a phenotype microarray screen and identified sulfate ion as a molecule that can suppress alginate production. When a mucoid P.

Production of cholera toxin (CT), a major virulence factor of V. cholerae, is highly promoted during anaerobic growth using trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) as an alternative electron acceptor.
