This study examined the biomechanics of the lower limbs during four typical Tai Chi (TC) movements: wave hand in cloud, leaning fly side, repulse monkey, and brush knee and twist step, in order to provide biomechanical evidence-based recommendations for patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) practicing TC. Joint angles and joint moments of the hip, knee, and ankle in frontal and sagittal plane as well as ground reaction forces were examined while performing TC and regular walking in an experienced 38 years old TC master. The results showed that relative to walking, the four TC movements are characterized by a wide motion range of lower limbs, slow increase in joint loading, and strong muscle activity during performance.

The N-N bond structure of the key intermediate in the reported catalytic ammonia production ( , , 536-540) should be described as containing a N-N double bond, instead of containing a N-N triple bond. Two 3c-delocalized bonds are found in this fragment. The analysis of the oxidation states reveal that the N reduction is achieved mainly during the step of N-N bond cleavage; SmI-ROH reduction steps reduce Mo atoms and add protons to N atoms without changing their oxidation states.

Background: Comprehensive molecular and cytogenetic profiling of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is important and critical to the current standard of care for patients with B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Here we propose a rapid process for detecting gene fusions whereby FusionPlex RNA next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA chromosome genomic array testing (CGAT) are combined for a more efficient approach in the management of patients with B-ALL.

Methods: We performed RNA NGS and CGAT on 28 B-ALL samples and, in four patients, compared fixed cell pellets to paired cryo-preserved samples as a starting material to further assess the utility of cytogenetic fixed pellets for gene expression analysis.
