Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how well the AH Plus sealer enters dentinal tubules after root canal retreatment using two different cleaning techniques.
  • Thirty-two mandibular premolars were divided into four groups for different retreatment methods, and the penetration of the sealer into dentinal tubules was analyzed using advanced microscopy.
  • Results showed that ProTaper Next retreatment led to better sealer penetration in the apical third of the root canal compared to Reciproc methods, while additional cleaning techniques did not enhance filling material removal across any evaluated sections.

Objective: Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) was used to investigate the penetration of endodontic sealers into the dentinal tubules after retreatment using two different obturation techniques.

Materials And Methods: Thirty mandibular premolars were prepared up to instrument F3 (ProTaper Universal, Dentsply) and filled with Endofill using the single cone technique. The canals were retreated using Mtwo instruments.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of ProTaper Next (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) and Reciproc (VDW, Munich, Germany) systems in removing filling material from oval root canals using sonic or ultrasonic irrigation as additional cleaning methods.

Methods: Thirty-two human extracted mandibular premolars with oval canals were prepared using the ProTaper Universal system (Dentsply Maillefer) up to instrument F4 (40/.06) and then filled by the single-cone technique using Endofill sealer (Dentsply Maillefer).
