Article Synopsis
  • - Neuraxial anesthesia, a form of regional anesthesia, can lead to severe complications like cauda equina syndrome, which involves damage to the sacral neural roots; this was highlighted in a case of a 23-year-old female who experienced symptoms following spinal anesthesia for Bartholin abscess drainage.
  • - Postoperative symptoms included bilateral weakness and pain in the lower limbs, prompting MRI that revealed arachnoiditis, confirming the diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome.
