Background: Several studies have shown that the intensity of treatment in Ewing sarcoma has an impact on outcome. The present trial tested the non-inferiority of intensive, shorter, induction chemotherapy (25 weeks total treatment time) compared to the standard treatment (37 weeks) in non-metastatic Ewing sarcoma (ES) at onset.
Procedure: This national, multicenter, parallel, randomized, controlled, open-label, non-inferiority, phase III trial was conducted in 14 specialized hospitals in Italy.

Sarcomas are rare, mesenchymal tumors, representing about 10-15% of all childhood cancers. GD2 is a suitable target for chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy due to its overexpression in several solid tumors. In this preclinical study, we investigated the potential use of iCasp9.

In this context, physical unclonable functions (PUFs) have been proposed to overcome limitations of current anti-counterfeiting technologies. Here, we report on artificial fingerprints that can be directly engraved on a wide range of substrates through self-assembled block-copolymer templating as nanoscale PUFs for secure authentication and identification.

The eye has been indicated as the ideal region for IRT, potentially serving as an early indicator of variations in body temperature triggered by various events and stimuli. Studies are being conducted to understand sources of variation in IRT temperature of the eye and develop comprehensive guidelines for veterinary medicine and animal production purposes.

Nearly half of METs show recurrent EWSR1 or FUS gene rearrangements with a diverse set of fusion partners. The diversity of fusion partners and lack of known driver abnormalities in many cases raises the question of whether METs represent a uniformly distinct tumor entity.

The Majeed pelvic score (MPS) is the most commonly used pelvic-specific questionnaire in the literature. The aim of this study is translation, cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Italian version of MPS.

We undertook a detailed clinicopathological evaluation of a cohort of patients with MYOD1 mutated fnRMS in order to improve risk stratification and treatment options.
Procedure: Histological, mutational and clinical data from a cohort of patients with MYOD1 mutant RMS treated in Europe were analysed.
Purpose: Recurrent shoulder instability, a common musculoskeletal disorder, often involves glenoid bone loss and Hill-Sachs lesions. However, the optimal imaging modality for accurately and reliably quantifying bipolar bone loss remains uncertain. This systematic review aims to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of various imaging modalities in assessing bipolar bone loss in anterior shoulder instability.

However, certain limitations make their application imperfect in current practice. This position paper underscores the need to broaden the notion of companion testing, considering the potential of emerging technologies, including computational biology, to overcome these limitations.

Gram-negative species of the genus are the predominant ones isolated from cold habitats, making them an excellent model for studying the mechanisms of bacterial adaptation to the most extreme habitats on our planet. Here we focused on the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) structure and the outer membrane dynamics of sp.

DPPC represents the most abundant phospholipid in biological membranes, while PP is one of the most common synthetic polymers diffused in the anthropic environment. By following in detail the absorption process, and the corresponding structural modification undergone by the membrane, we show how the initial configuration and the PP molecular weight determine the overall behavior of the system.

However, considering the limited healing potential of rotator cuff tendons, several augmentation strategies have evolved to enhance tendon healing. The purpose of this article was to present a new surgical technique called
Methods: Patients with repairable full-thickness posterosuperior rotator cuff tear and a moderate-to-high risk of healing failure were chosen as candidates for the procedure.
Background: Influenza B/Yamagata viruses exhibited weak antigenic selection in recent years, reducing their prevalence over time and requiring no update of the vaccine component since 2015. To date, no B/Yamagata viruses have been isolated or sequenced since March 2020.
Methods: The antibody prevalence against the current B/Yamagata vaccine strain in Italy was investigated: For each influenza season from 2012/2013 to 2021/2022, 100 human serum samples were tested by haemagglutination inhibition (HAI) assay against the vaccine strain B/Phuket/3073/2013.
The conventional rules for anti-cancer drug development are no longer sufficient given the relatively limited number of patients available for therapeutic trials. It is thus a real challenge to better design trials in the context of new drug approval for anti-cancer treatment. Artificial intelligence (AI)-based in silico trials can incorporate far fewer but more informative patients and could be conducted faster and at a lower cost.

Indeed, the combination of local anesthetic peripheral nerve blocks and systemic or oral analgesics ensures a better outcome than the isolated use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. In particular, intrascalene block has significant advantages in more complex procedures involving the anterior aspect of the shoulder.

It was observed that individual AA concentrations remained constant over treatment time, with no noticeable changes during repeated long-term drug administration for up to 120 days. There was no correlation between AA concentrations and survival outcomes.
