As adults spend about 30% of each day asleep, having a sleep disorder can negatively affect their functioning. The study objective was to determine the factors that influence sleep quality among patients and healthcare providers in the primary healthcare setting. This study included respondents of both sexes aged 18-90 years, comprising outpatients and the healthcare providers working in the General Medicine Service at the "Liman" Department of the "Novi Sad" Health Center in Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia.

Cross-cultural validation of the Lower Extremity Functional Scale in Serbian postmenopausal women with knee osteoarthritis.

Objective: Translation and cross-cultural validation of the Serbian version of the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (Srb-LEFS).

Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study initially included 186 postmenopausal women aged 60 to 75 years who underwent an x-ray examination of both knees, along with body mass, body height, waist circumference, knee range of motion, and blood pressure measurements. The laboratory analyses included the evaluation of fasting glucose levels and lipid profile.

The objective of this study was to determine the stress and anxiety levels among medical rehabilitation students induced by distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methodology: The sample for this prospective cross-sectional study included 96 students pursuing the medical rehabilitation undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, Serbia.

In previous years, concerns have been repeatedly raised regarding the impact of parental use of smartphones and other portable digital devices (PDD) in the presence of infants and young children on children's development. Recently, this topic gainedmore attention by researchers. Therefore, this review aimed at answering the following questions based on the current state of research: How does parental use of PDD in the presence of their 0-3-year-old child affect the quality of the parent-child interaction and relationship, their child's affective and physiological regulation as well as social-emotional and cognitive development? The literature search of six databases based on previously established criteria resulted in 22 articles.

Impact of Right Heart Failure on Clinical Outcome of Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) Implantation: Single Center Experience.

The aim of this study was to examine the incidence and significance of right heart failure (RHF) in the early and late phase of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation with the identification of predictive factors for the development of RHF. This was a prospective observational analytical cohort study. Genome-Wide Association Mapping for Agronomic and Seed Quality Traits of Field Pea ( L.).

Genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted to identify loci associated with agronomic (days to flowering, days to maturity, plant height, seed yield and seed weight), seed morphology (shape and dimpling), and seed quality (protein, starch, and fiber concentrations) traits of field pea ( L.). The Challenges to Abdominal and Cardiac Surgeons: Emergency Splenectomy after LVAD Implantation-A Case Report.

Successful establishment of a left ventricular assist device program in an emerging country: one year experience.

Background: The primary goal of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of patients with end-stage heart failure (HF) who underwent continuous flow left ventricular assist device (CF-LVAD) in a developing country and to compare to those reported by more developed countries. Introduction: Patients with acute coronary syndrome usually receive dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) (usually clopidogrel + aspirin) prior to coronary catheterization, and approximately 10% of these patients require coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). DAPT has favorable effects on prevention of thrombus formation, but it can have deleterious effects on surgical hemostasis. Anaemia, if present, gives additional risk to such patients.

Potential of Legume-Brassica Intercrops for Forage Production and Green Manure: Encouragements from a Temperate Southeast European Environment.

Legumes and brassicas have much in common: importance in agricultural history, rich biodiversity, numerous forms of use, high adaptability to diverse farming designs, and various non-food applications. Rare available resources demonstrate intercropping legumes and brassicas as beneficial to both, especially for the latter, profiting from better nitrogen nutrition. Our team aimed at designing a scheme of the intercrops of autumn- and spring-sown annual legumes with brassicas for ruminant feeding and green manure, and has carried out a set of field trials in a temperate Southeast European environment and during the past decade, aimed at assessing their potential for yields of forage dry matter and aboveground biomass nitrogen and their economic reliability via land equivalent ratio.

Background: We provided preliminary psychometric data for the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Questionnaire-Head and Neck Module, updated version (QLQ-H&N43) from a group of Serbian laryngectomized patients.

Methods: The study included 170 subjects. The QLQ-H&N43 is a 43-item questionnaire, with 12 multi-item scales and 7 single-item symptom scales.

Aortic valve disease as a first manifestation of Alcaptonuria in surgically treated patient. Case report.

Background: Alcaptonuria, a rare metabolic disorder (1:250 000), is usually presented with symptoms such as arthropathies of weight bearing joints.

Case Report: In this case, a 65 year old woman was admitted to our hospital with severe aortic stenosis and no other symptoms that would suggest the existance of Alcaptonuria. Intraoperative findings of black discoloration of the affected valve and ascending aorta, pointed towards the diagnosis of cardiac ochronosis, what was then confirmed by a PH examination.
