The blood sera of persons immunized with different typhus vaccines have been studied in the complement fixation test, the indirect hemagglutination test and the enzyme immunoassay. The data thus obtained indicate that the enzyme immunoassay is highly sensitive and can be universally used for the determination of antibodies to Rickettsia prowazekii after primary and booster immunization with different typhus vaccines. This method detects specific antibodies both at an early period and, which is of particular importance, at a remote period after immunization (3 years later) when complement-binding and hemagglutinating antibodies are absent.

Cells of either zone display their own morphological and cytochemical properties. Different rates of 3H-uridine incorporation were observed in the cytoplasm and the nucleus in cells of either zone during 5, 30, 60 and 240 minutes after precursor injection.

Membrane potentials of different types of cells in the pancreatic head of guinea-pigs were studied in vivo, using intracellular microelectrode technique. Cellular distribution was determined at different depths: 0-150 microns, 150-500 microns, 500-900 microns. It was established that the maximum number of low polarized cells (30.

Excitability parameters of m. masseter and m. digastricus fibers (resting minute potential--MP, action potential--AP, critical level of depolarization--CLD and rheobase currents) were determined in anesthetized rats (nembutal, 40 mg/kg) on days 3-4 and 10-15 after local intramuscular tetanus toxin injection (20 and 40 mouse Dlm, respectively).

The plasmids were transfected by DEAE-dextran method into different lines of cultured cells and transient expression of the HBsAg gene was studied. The results indicate that: transcriptional enhancer of hepatitis B virus situated downstream from HBsAg gene is active in green monkey kidney cells (CVI), promoter of 5 LTR of bovine leukemia virus is trans-activated in the goat or calf cells infected with BLV.

After hypokinesia the maximal oxygen consumption decreased by 9.9% and total oxygen debt by 23% (P less than 0.

The number of fibers with high polarization level was increased as was the number of fibers with low and medium level in both bellies of m.

The combined administration of the drugs fails to potentiate the effect of each drug on the process of the skeletal muscle reinnervation.

A specific antiserum was obtained by absorption of the crude antiserum by blood cells and plasma proteins of men with different kinds of ABO and Rh antigens, till disappearance of positive reaction with men's serum protein in the Ouchterlony test. Such an adsorbed specific antiserum continued to react with the sera of pregnant women.

BmNPV Pol has no detectable 5'----3' exonuclease activity on single-stranded or duplex DNA. Analysis of the products of 3'----5' exonucleolytic reaction showed that deoxynucleoside monophosphates were released during the hydrolysis of single-stranded DNA.

Membrane potential at rest (MP), action potential (AP), critical level of depolarization (CLD) and latent period (LP) of different muscle fibers were studied in two bellies of digastric muscle. Even and chaotic distribution of different muscle fibers was observed in the anterior and posterior belly, respectively. It is believed that electrophysiological data correspond to the results of histological analysis of muscle fibers in digastric muscle.
