The paper considers the possibility of using the diamond-silicon carbide composite Skeleton with a technological coating of polycrystalline silicon as a substrate for X-ray mirrors used with powerful synchrotron radiation sources (third+ and fourth generation). Samples were studied after polishing to provide the following surface parameters: root-mean-square flatness ≃ 50 nm, micro-roughness on the frame 2 µm × 2 µm σ ≃ 0.15 nm.

Methods for calculating the process of axisymmetric surface shape correction with a wide-aperture ion beam through a forming diaphragm for optical elements with a round and arbitrary border shape are presented. In the case of circular optical elements, an approach based on the separation of the axisymmetric component of the surface shape error from its decomposition by Zernike polynomials is used. In the case of optical elements with an arbitrary border shape (not round), an algorithm for searching the axisymmetric component of the shape error is proposed.

Lanthanide tungstates and molybdates are promising materials for hydrogen separation membranes due to their high protonic conductivity. A promising approach to fabricating ceramics based on these materials is radiation thermal sintering. The current work aims at studying the effect of radiation thermal sintering on the structural morphological and transport properties of (Nd,Ln)(W,Mo)O as promising materials for hydrogen separation membranes.

Supramolecular ensembles of arabinogalactan (AG) and its complexes with betulin diacetate (BDA) were studied in water and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) using ablation, induced by submillimeter radiation from the free electron laser. Solutions of 1wt% AG resulted in formation of aerosol particles with a maximum size of 60-70nm. In contrast, with DMSO as the solvent, the majority of particles were significantly smaller.

The properties of the intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the monoclinic (Form I) and the orthorhombic (Form II) polymorphs of paracetamol, C(8)H(9)NO(2), have been studied by single crystal polarized Raman spectroscopy (40 to 3700 cm(-1)) in a wide temperature range (5 K < T < 300 K) in relation to the dynamics of methyl-groups of the two forms. A detailed analysis of the temperature dependence of the wavenumbers, bandwidths and integral intensities of the spectral bands has revealed an essential difference between the two polymorphs in the strength and ordering of OH···O and NH···O hydrogen bonds. The compression of intermolecular hydrogen bonds is interrelated with crystal packing and the dynamics of methyl-groups.
