Childhood obesity is a global public health concern in developed and developing countries. Approximately 3 in 10 Panamanian children suffer from obesity, and overweight/obesity is responsible for the highest number of premature or avoidable deaths in this country. A formative community assessment and exploration of the built food environment was conducted.
