The aim of this scoping review was to provide an overview and classification of existing studies on strategies and measures to reduce the workload of nuclear industry main control room operators and emergency response organization personnel to support their wellbeing and functional capacity during crises. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) statement guidelines were followed. All the 49 studies included involved main control room operators.

Participants And Methods: The study was a quasi-experimental, within-subject crossover study with 73 police officers.
Background: National recommendations to decrease the health and safety risks of working hours are often given based on the increasing knowledge of the associations between working hour characteristics and health. However, the utilization of the recommendations, and their potential to change the actual working time patterns in healthcare sector is unclear.
Objective: We investigated the extent to which the national recommendations are utilized in shift scheduling, when they are integrated as a shift schedule evaluation tool into the shift scheduling software.
