Blood analysis revealed moderate regenerative anaemia, mild monocytosis, thrombocytopaenia, hypoproteinaemia, hypoglobulinaemia, hypocholesterolaemia and increased C-reactive protein. On ultrasonography, the spleen had multifocal hypoechoic lesions.
