Experience of violence, social support, nursing practice environment, and burnout on mental health among mental health nurses in South Korea: A structural equation modeling analysis.

Aims: This study examined the relationship between the experience of violence, social support, nursing practice environment, and mental health among South Korean mental health nurses.

Methods: Structured questionnaires were distributed to participants who worked in twelve mental health hospitals, each with at least 200 beds, in South Korea. We analyzed 243 questionnaires and used AMOS 25.

Effectiveness of Therapeutic Community Program on Resilience and Change in Lifestyle in People With Alcohol Use Disorder.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a therapeutic community program on resilience and positive change of lifestyle in people with alcohol use disorder. This study used a quasi-experimental study design. The Therapeutic Community Program was conducted daily for 12 weeks from June 2017 to May 2018.

Therapeutic community-oriented day treatment program for Korean women with alcohol use disorder: a non-randomized pilot feasibility trial.

Background: The prevalence of alcohol use disorder (AUD) among women in South Korea has been rising, causing public health problems. Yet women's treatment needs are mostly unmet in South Korea due to the lack of women-focused treatment programs. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a drinking-reduction program on drinking behavior, stages of change, drinking refusal self-efficacy, and resilience in Koreans with moderate alcohol use disorder. This study used a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control design. This study was performed from March 2015 to July 2015.

Bullying in the Nursing Workplace: Applying Evidence Using A Conceptual Framework.

Bullying in the nursing workplace can result in serious health-related outcomes for both nurses and patients who are under their care as well as the health care organizations. Bullying can erode the victim's professional competence and reputation and challenge the victim to maintain and improve professional identity. Although bullying can occur among co-workers, the most common form of bullying involves the abuse of power by superiors against subordinates.

[Effectiveness of forgiveness therapy on resilience, self-esteem, and spirituality of wives of alcoholics].

Purpose: In this study the effects of forgiveness therapy on the resilience, self-esteem, and spirituality of wives of men suffering from alcohol abuse was examined.

Methods: The study design was a quasi-experimental design. Forgiveness therapy was conducted once a week for 12 weeks.

[Development and validity of workplace bullying in nursing-type inventory (WPBN-TI)].

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument to assess bullying of nurses, and test the validity and reliability of the instrument.

Methods: The initial thirty items of WPBN-TI were identified through a review of the literature on types bullying related to nursing and in-depth interviews with 14 nurses who experienced bullying at work. Sixteen items were developed through 2 content validity tests by 9 experts and 10 nurses.

Challenges in coming of age in Korea.

Nurses in the field of addictions and substance abuse have assumed, along with most of medicine, that alcohol abuse is a multifactoral health problem. The narratives of two college student's comments about their experiences of excessive drinking are considered from the human becoming theory as an alternative perspective to the causal theories which are dominant in the addictions and substance abuse fields. These issues are also considered from a human becoming perspective.
