Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a new workflow for 1.5-T magnetic resonance (MR)-guided on-line adaptive radiation therapy (MRgART) and assess its feasibility in achieving dose constraints.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the clinical data of patients who underwent on-line adaptive radiation therapy using a 1.

Objectives: We investigated prospectively whether, in cervical cancer (CC) treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT), the Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) histogram and texture parameters and their change rates during treatment could predict prognosis.

Methods: Fifty-seven CC patients treated with CCRT at our institution were included. They underwent MRI scans up to four times during the treatment course (1st, before treatment [n = 41], 2nd, at the start of image-guided brachytherapy (IGBT) [n = 41], 3rd, in the middle of IGBT [n = 27], 4th, after treatment [n = 53]).

Purpose: The Working Group of the Gynecological Tumor Committee of the Japanese Radiation Oncology Study Group (JROSG) published recommendations for contouring high-risk clinical target volumes (HR-CTV) on CT for 3-dimentional image-guided brachytherapy for cervical cancer. The purpose of this study was to compare HR-CTV delineated on CT, referencing recommendations from JROSG, with HR-CTV delineated on MRI, referencing consensus guidelines from the Groupe Européen de Curiethérapie-European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (GEC ESTRO).

Material And Methods: Fourteen patients were evaluated.

Background/aim: To investigate outcomes of patients with cervical cancer who received radiation therapy for extrapelvic lymph node recurrence after initial pelvic radiotherapy.

Patients And Methods: The treatment charts of 20 patients were retrospectively reviewed, and factors influencing patient's prognosis were statistically analyzed.

Results: The three-year in-field tumor control rate was 55% and overall survival (OS) at 2, 3, and 5 years was 55%, 45%, and 37.

Purpose: We propose a method of image-guided brachytherapy (IGBT) that combines MRI-based target volume delineation for the first fraction with CT datasets of subsequent fractions, using an automatic, applicator-based co-registration, and report our preliminary experience.

Materials And Methods: The MRI of the first fraction was used for the first brachytherapy planning. For each subsequent brachytherapy fraction, after the same applicator insertion, a new CT scan with the applicator in place was obtained.

N1-Acetoxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzyl-alpha- and -beta-D-glucopyranosides (3-alpha, beta) and N1-acetoxy-2,2,5,5-tetramethylpyrrolin-3-oyl 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzyl-alpha- and -beta-D-glucopyranosylamines (9-alpha, beta) were synthesized in good yield by Schmidt's glycosylation method. Their subsequent O-debenzylation was proceeded successfully to give the desired products 1-alpha, and 1-beta in good yield, and 2-alpha in a low yield, without 2-beta by only short-timed hydrogenolysis in the presence of palladium-on-carbon (Pd-C) in a CHCl3-MeOH solvent system that included concentrated HCl. Upon enzyme-catalyzed hydrolysis, only 2-alpha was hydrolyzed by the esterase, while both of 1-alpha and 1-beta were not hydrolyzed by any other enzyme such as lipase.
