Nutrition in the intensive care setting is a vital part of patient care, and may even be referred to as "nutritional therapy". Current nutritional practices have progressed a lot over the past few years, and draw from a large body of accumulating evidence. Yet, as with other trends in critical care, there are a lot of variations in the way nutrition is approached between institutions, as well as between individual physicians.
