The Denti one-stage root form implant made of pure titanium (so called DOP implant type) was introduced in 2004 and the Denti Needle implants was introduced in 2007. The author of this paper was one of the first who used these systems in Hungary. The observation period of the implanted DOP implants ranges between 1 to 5 years with a success rate of 95.

On the basis of the information gained from the literature the amoxicillin/clavulanic acid combination has attained the leading position in dentistry and outpatient oral surgery practices as regards the order of application of antibiotics. The explanation for this may be that in 60-70% of the cases of odontogenic inflammation, besides the pathogenic anaerobic bacteria there is an increasing necessity to eliminate beta-lactamase-producing bacteria as well. The authors applied the amoxicillin/clavulanic acid combination (Aktil Duo 625 mg) to support the--primarily surgical--treatment of 14 oral and dental surgery conditions on a total of 60 patients.

A rare case of an extremely large, unilateral incisive canal cyst (nasopalatine duct cyst), located between the teeth #11 and #25 is presented. The upper border of the cyst extended to the nasal cavity, the posterior border was the maxillary sinus while the lower border was 5 mm above the maxillary alveolar process. The apices of the vital teeth 21, 22, 23 were in the cyst.

Crohn's disease is a systemic chronic inflammatory disorder, which may involve any part of the gastrointestinal tract, including the oral cavity. Bowel symptoms are the predominant manifestations, however during the course of the disease a lot of extra-intestinal complications may occur. The prevalence rates of oral manifestations varied between 5 to 20 per cent, but in pediatric patients the prevalence is much higher: 48 to 80 per cent.
