Celiac disease (CeD) is an enteropathy caused by the complex interaction between genetic, environmental, and individual immunological factors. Besides the hallmark of intestinal mucosal damage, CeD is a systemic disorder extending beyond the gastrointestinal tract and impacting various other organs, causing extraintestinal and atypical symptoms. The association between CeD and liver damage has been classified into three main categories: mild and asymptomatic liver injury, autoimmune liver injury, and liver failure.

Placental morbid adherence is a known risk factor for postpartum hemorrhage. The incidence of abnormal placental attachment has been increasing over the past few decades, mainly due to rising rates of cesarean deliveries, advanced maternal age, and the use of assisted reproductive technologies. Cesarean section is a significant risk factor for placenta increta, as it disrupts the normal architecture of the uterine wall, making it more difficult for the placenta to detach after delivery.

  • - Skin cancers, notably melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma, necessitate a team-based treatment strategy, as new guidelines highlight advancements in managing these diseases.
  • - Melanoma shows higher mortality rates in Eastern Europe, emphasizing the need for increased prevention and detection efforts in that region, while BCC and cSCC remain the most prevalent and continue to rise in incidence.
  • - Treatment options vary, with sebaceous carcinoma requiring early surgical intervention like Mohs micrographic surgery, and primary cutaneous lymphomas demanding distinct management approaches, underscoring the importance of specialized care in skin cancer treatment.

The European Society for Medical Oncology experts have identified the main components of the long-term management of oncological patients. These include early diagnosis through population screening and periodic control of already diagnosed patients to identify relapses, recurrences, and other associated neoplasms. There are no generally accepted international guidelines for the long-term monitoring of patients with skin neoplasms (nonmelanoma skin cancer, malignant melanoma, precancerous-high-risk skin lesions).

Article Synopsis
  • * A study involving 57 patients from 2017 to 2019 analyzed the characteristics of fibroids during pregnancy, delivery methods, and maternal and fetal outcomes, noting that most women delivered via cesarean section and that fibroids often grow larger in the second trimester.
  • * The findings suggest that while myomectomy during cesarean section carries risks like increased operating time, it may be beneficial in selected cases to avoid future surgeries, though significant differences in bleeding between those who had the procedure and those who did not were not observed

Cervical cancer represents a major health problem among females due to its increased mortality rate. The conventional therapies are very aggressive and unsatisfactory when it comes to survival rate, especially in terminal stages, which requires the development of new treatment alternatives. With the use of nanotechnology, various chemotherapeutic drugs can be transported via nanocarriers directly to cervical cancerous cells, thus skipping the hepatic first-pass effect and decreasing the rate of chemotherapy side effects.

Ovarian malignant germ cell tumors (OMGCT) represent less than 10% of all ovarian tumors. Dysgerminoma is the most common malignant primitive germ cell tumor in young women, known for its curability and low propensity to invade and metastasize when diagnosed early. Herein, we report an unusual type of ovarian dysgerminoma (OD) metastasis with a brief review of the literature, lacking similar reported cases.
