Background: Accumulated evidence indicates that patients with lung cancer are a vulnerable population throughout the pandemic. Limited information is available in Latin America regarding the impact of the pandemic on medical care. Importance: Metformin hydrochloride is emerging as a repurposed anticancer drug.
