Unveiling Hierarchical Self-Assembly of Triazolylferrocenyl Dendrimers: Producing Non-Traditional Intrinsically Green Fluorescent Vesosomes for Nanotheranostics.

Dendrimers and supramolecular chemistry continue to fascinate researchers due to the endless unrevealed potential of their combination. This study investigates the self-assembly process of a series of hydrophobic triazolylferrocenyl dendrimers in aqueous medium. Deep investigation through NMR spectroscopy, absorption UV-vis spectroscopy along with theoretical simulations demonstrates that the ferrocenyl moieties interact intramolecularly and intermolecularly driving the self-assembly process.

The Effects of Head Elevation on Intracranial Pressure, Cerebral Perfusion Pressure, and Cerebral Oxygenation Among Patients with Acute Brain Injury: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Background: Head elevation is recommended as a tier zero measure to decrease high intracranial pressure (ICP) in neurocritical patients. However, its quantitative effects on cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP), jugular bulb oxygen saturation (SjvO), brain tissue partial pressure of oxygen (PbtO), and arteriovenous difference of oxygen (AVDO) are uncertain. Our objective was to evaluate the effects of head elevation on ICP, CPP, SjvO, PbtO, and AVDO among patients with acute brain injury.

Ruptured anterior communicating artery (ACoA) aneurysms are frequently associated with neuropsychological deficits. This review aims to compare neuropsychological outcomes between surgical and endovascular approaches to ACoA. We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for studies comparing the endovascular and surgical approaches to ruptured ACoA aneurysms.

Background: The global scarcity of organs for kidney transplants (KTs) has led to the increased acceptance of living donors (LDs) with minor abnormalities to increase the donor pool.. Methods: We searched Elsevier's Scopus database in February 2022 to find articles focused on ITB therapy. Data extracted included citation count, publication year, author's country and income category, journal and its 5-year impact factor, research type, disease requiring ITB, and target population.

CT volumetry performs better than nuclear renography in predicting estimated renal function one year after living donation.

The evaluation of split renal function (SRF) is a critical issue in living kidney donations and can be evaluated using nuclear renography (NR) or computerized tomography (CT), with unclear comparative advantages. We conducted this retrospective study in 193 donors to examine the correlation of SRF assessed by NR and CT volumetry and compared their ability to predict remaining donor renal function at 1 year, through multiple approaches. Optical Studies of Thin Films of Cryocondensed Mixtures of Water and Admixture of Nitrogen and Argon.

The interaction of host molecules with water molecules is of primary importance in astrophysical and atmospheric studies. Water-binding interactions continue to attract a broad interest in various fields, especially those related to the formation of assembly structures. Using the physical vapor deposition (PVD) method and a two-beam interferometer with a wavelength of 406 nm, the refractive indices of thin films of a water and nitrogen (argon) mixture were calculated in the range from 15 to 35 K.

Epigenetic regulators are proteins involved in controlling gene expression. Information about the epigenetic regulators within the Fagaceae, a relevant family of trees and shrubs of the northern hemisphere ecosystems, is scarce. With the intent to characterize these proteins in Fagaceae, we searched for orthologs of DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs) and demethylases (DDMEs) and Histone modifiers involved in acetylation (HATs), deacetylation (HDACs), methylation (HMTs), and demethylation (HDMTs) in Fagus, Quercus, and Castanea genera.

Synthesis and Characterization of Dendronized Gold Nanoparticles Bearing Charged Peripheral Groups with Antimicrobial Potential.

Dendronized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized bearing charged peripheral groups. Two novel AB-type dendrons were synthesized with a thiol group at the focal point followed by their attachment to AuNPs. Dendrons were designed to have nine charged peripheral groups (carboxyl or amine), glycol solubilizing, units and one thiol moiety at the focal point.

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the Author Impact Factor (AIF) as a useful metric and as a complement to the h-index among neurosurgical researchers.

Methods: The 5-year AIF and h-index were compared among 3 groups of researchers: 1) the 100 most prolific of all time within general neurosurgical journals ("Experienced"), 2) the 100 most prolific during the 2015-2019 period within general neurosurgical journals ("Trending Group"), and 3) the 100 postgraduation year 7 neurosurgical residents with the highest h-index ("Amateur").
