Antimicrobial resistance is a critical challenge due to the overuse of conventional antimicrobials, and alternative solutions are urgently needed. This study investigates the efficacy of compounds derived from lactic acid bacteria (LAB) fermentation combined with antibiotics against multidrug-resistant pathogens isolated from clinical cases in a hospital setting. Strains of , , and and were isolated and selected from blood, respiratory, and urine samples.

[Activity of vancomycin, teicoplanin and linezolid in methicillin resistant coagulase-negative Staphylococci isolates from paediatric blood cultures].

Introduction: Coagulase-negative-Staphylococci (CNS) are the major cause of bacteraemia and sepsis in newborns. CNS methicillin resistance and its loss of sensitivity to glycopeptide antibiotics, make treatment significantly more difficult in positive cocci infections.

Objective: To study MIC vancomycin, teicoplanin and linezolid in different species of CNS methicillin resistant isolates from blood cultures from paediatric patients.

Objective: Multiresistant coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) infections are mainly increased in hospitalized patients. We have studied the activity of vancomycin, ciprofloxacin, daptomycin and linezolid in methicillin-resistant CNS strains, isolated from true blood cultures.

Methods: We collected 87 strains of different CNS species from positive blood cultures.

[Cystitis and haematuria due to Corynebacterium striatum. A case report and review].

We herewith report the first case of uncomplicated urinary tract infection due to Corynebacterium striatum in an ambulatory patient without any other predisponent risk factors. C. striatum is a ubiquitous saprophyte of human skin and mucous membranes, which has been occasionally associated with infection in patients hospitalized or immunocompromised patients with underlying diseases.

[Endophthalmitis by Aspergillus fumigatus after retina detachment].

A fungal infection in the right eye after retina detachment on an immunocompetent patient is reported. After surgery, she developed an infection that was empirically treated with antibiotics and corticoids. Later the patient developed another retina and choroid detachment.
