We have read with great interest the recent review published by Dr. Ebo and collaborators on cannabis allergy. It highlights the difficulties in getting a valid diagnosis because some patients do not admit its consumption, which may not be legalized, there are no commercial extracts and there are problems in cutaneous tests interpretation due to cross-reactivity with other related allergens.

Study Design: Retrospective observational study.
Methods: Data from epidemiological surveillance system were used to calculate the incidence rate for each STIs by age group and sex.
Purpose: Lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (LUTS/BPH) is a growing condition in males associated with a high clinical, economic and humanistic burden. Several surgical techniques are available for the treatment of LUTS/BPH; thus, the aim of this study was to describe and explore the variability in the use of surgical procedures among Spanish hospitals.
Methods: The REVALURO was a retrospective, observational study conducted by collecting data from the clinical records of patients with LUTS/BPH aged ≥ 35 years, from 5 national reference hospitals, who were surgically treated between 2018 and 2022.
Purpose: In cochlear implantation (CI) surgery, there are a wide variety of intraoperative tests available. However, no clear guide exists on which tests must be performed as the minimum intraoperative testing battery. Toward this end, we studied the usage patterns, recommendations, and attitudes of practitioners toward intraoperative testing.

Objective: To establish the impact of edentulism and sociodemographic factors on the quality of life of the Salvadoran population.
Materials And Methods: Secondary cross-sectional analysis of data in 3322 users of the Public Health System of El Salvador, aged 15 to > 60 years.

Maternal and prenatal exposure to organochlorine pesticides (OCP), arsenic (As), and fluoride (F) is a critical public health concern. The present study assessed serum OCP residues and urinary As and F levels in mother and newborn pairs who are residents of rural areas of Durango State, Mexico, from August 2018 to February 2019. Levels of OCP, As, and F were measured in serum and urine samples by Gas chromatography - Tandem mass spectrometry (GC - MS/MS), Hydride generation - Atomic fluorescent spectrometry (HG-AFS, and ion-selective electron analysis (ISE), respectively, in 60 binomial mothers - newborns.

In this study, we include epidemiological patterns of S. pneumoniae before and after COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the definition of the nine hallmarks of aging in 2013 by López-Otin, numerous studies have attempted to identify the main regulators and contributors in the aging process. One interesting group of proteins whose participation has been implicated in several aging hallmarks are the nuclear DBF2-related (NDR) family of serine-threonine AGC kinases.

A total of 60 rabbits at 90 days of age were used in the experiment. At slaughter, meat physicochemical and sensory characteristics were measured on muscle.

However, the interaction of these two neuromodulatory systems in maintaining hippocampal synaptic plasticity during healthy aging has not been explored so far. Here we report profound sex differences in the Neuropeptide-Y (NPY) levels in the dorsal dentate gyrus (DG) with higher NPY concentrations in the male mice compared to their female counterparts and a reduction of NPY levels during aging specifically in males.

The aim of this case-control study is to analyze the effect of electrical cochlear stimulation on the vestibule (otolith end-organ), when using a cochleo-vestibular implant, comparing vestibular stimulation (VI) and cochlear stimulation (CI).
Methods: Four patients with bilateral vestibulopathy were included.
Hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and endothelium dysfunction are related to platelet hyperactivity in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) patients. Glucosamine (GlcN) has inhibitory effects on platelets of animals and healthy donors, but this role in platelets from T2D patients is unknown. The aim of this study was to evaluate the GlcN in vitro effects on platelet aggregation in T2D patients and healthy donors.

They spend most of their lives in the sea, except when they emerge as hatchlings from the nest and when the adult females return to nest. Those moments of their life cycle are vital for their reproductive success, conservation, and knowledge of their biology.

This study aimed to explore societal preferences (of parents and pediatricians) regarding the attributes of a MenB vaccine in Spain.
Methods: A discrete choice experiment (DCE) based on cross-sectional surveys was carried out to determine preferences.
(1) Background. Patients with bilateral vestibular disease (BVD) experience oscillopsia with a detriment to visual acuity (VA). This VA is driven mainly by the VOR that has two components: rotational and translational.

Due to both cancellation of elective surgery and restructuring in departments at most medical centers, surgical residents face a potential training deficit in their specialty. This study aims to objectively analyze and quantify the impact of the pandemic on the surgical activity of residents, in the setting of emergency and elective surgery, to assess whether this period has really supposed a training deficit.

In El Salvador, it is a group that has received little attention at the public health level.
Objective: To determine the profile of the oral health status and treatment needs of the elderly population in El Salvador.
An ongoing EU Horizon 2020 Project called BionicVEST is investigating the effect of constant electrical stimulation (ES) of the inferior vestibular nerve in patients with bilateral vestibular dysfunction (BVD). The evidence is that constant ES results in improved postural stability and gait performance, and so the question of central importance concerns how constant ES of mainly saccular afferents in these BVD patients could cause this improved performance. We suggest that the constant ES substitutes for the absent saccular neural input to the vestibular nuclei and the cerebellum in these BVD patients and indirectly via these structures to other structures, which have been of great recent interest in motor control.

Forming part of the COVID-19 monitoring and evaluation plan of the Catalan Government Health Department, our network aims to initiate a primary healthcare sentinel monitoring system as a surrogate of SARS-CoV-2 exposure in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
Methods And Analysis: The seroCAP is a serial cross-sectional study, which will be performed in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area to estimate antibodies against SARS-CoV-2.
Psychopathology networks consist of aspects (e.g., symptoms) of mental disorders (nodes) and the connections between those aspects (edges).

Still, a striking lack of knowledge exists concerning electrophysiological correlates of antibiotic-induced changes in gut microbiota and behavior. Here, we investigated changes in the synaptic transmission and plasticity together with behaviorally-relevant network activities from the hippocampus of antibiotic-treated mice.

Materials And Methods: Prospective cohort study. Adequacy to protocol was studied by comparing the different aspects of prophylaxis received by patients to those stipulated in the protocol in force at our hospital.
Objective: To determine and compare audiological and speech/language discrimination results in patients with osteo-integrated auditory devices, by comparing two different systems including different audiological indications in adult population.
Study Design: Descriptive and analytic, cross-sectional, cohort, and retrospective case review.
Setting: Tertiary referral center.
Land use and land cover (LULC) scenarios in rural catchment hydrology are crucial to describe the effects of future water dynamics. However, there is a lack of understanding of the effectiveness of including static land covers at the subbasin level to provide inter-annual stability in changing the different water balance components. We developed a step-by-step mapping protocol to extend and enrich the hydrological assessment of future LULC scenarios defined through participatory stakeholder involvement.
