Objectives: This systematic review with meta-analysis aimed to examine the effect of blood flow restriction resistance training (BFR-RT) on strength gains in untrained limbs (remote strength transfer [RST]).
Literature Survey: A search for studies was performed using six databases (PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, SPORTDiscus, and ScienceDirect) up to February 2024.
Methodology: Studies that assessed the RST phenomenon following BFR-RT and measured muscle strength were included.
Background: Personalized nutrition (PN) has been proposed as a strategy to increase the effectiveness of dietary recommendations and ultimately improve health status.
Objectives: We aimed to assess whether including omics-based PN in an e-commerce tool improves dietary behavior and metabolic profile in general population.
Methods: A 21-wk parallel, single-blinded, randomized intervention involved 193 adults assigned to a control group following Mediterranean diet recommendations (n = 57, completers = 36), PN (n = 70, completers = 45), or personalized plan (PP, n = 68, completers = 53) integrating a behavioral change program with PN recommendations.
Healthcare quality in low- and middle-income countries poses a significant challenge, contributing to heightened mortality rates from treatable conditions. The accreditation of health facilities was part of the former health reform in Mexico, proposed as a mechanism to enhance healthcare quality. This study assesses the performance of hospital accreditation in Mexico, utilizing indicators of effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.

Objective: The focus of this triple-blind randomized study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of a new root canal filling sealer (RCFS) based on tristrontium aluminate and dodecacalcium hepta-aluminate in living tissue.
Material And Methods: Forty-five Wistar rats () were divided into three groups: control (polyethylene), sealer (Bio-C Sealer, Londrina, PR, Brazil), and experimental (tristrontium aluminate and dodecacalcium hepta-aluminate). The tissues were analyzed under an optical microscope to assess different cellular events at different time intervals (7, 15, and 30 days).
In this paper, the results obtained in the development of ceramic resin feedstock for stereolithography are shown. Hydroxyapatite and silica are used as source of ceramic. Hydroxyapatite is extracted from bovine bone, which enhances bioactivity of ceramic scaffold.

Remarkably, PAs have been reported to influence core and peripheral clock genes expression, and their effects may change in a time-of-day dependent manner. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate whether the capacity of PAs to modulate the metabolome is conditioned by the time-of-day in which these compounds are consumed in a diet- and sex-dependent manner.

This observational and retrospective study was to examine the injuries sustained by elite young Spanish inline speed skaters during a season.
Methods: Athletes participating in the national championship ( = 80) were surveyed via an anonymous online questionnaire to screen for injury characteristics: incidence, location, and tissue affected; plus training information and demographics.
Personalized nutrition (PN) has gained much attention as a tool for empowerment of consumers to promote changes in dietary behavior, optimizing health status and preventing diet related diseases. Generalized implementation of PN faces different obstacles, one of the most relevant being metabolic characterization of the individual. Although omics technologies allow for assessment the dynamics of metabolism with unprecedented detail, its translatability as affordable and simple PN protocols is still difficult due to the complexity of metabolic regulation and to different technical and economical constrains.

Theoretical calculations show the activation of the C-C triple bond of the ynamides by the trimethylsilylium ion and formation of a β-trimethylsilylketenimonium cation. Further transformations of the products demonstrate the synthetic utility of this reaction.

Among the Mediterranean horticultural landraces, garlic is one of the crops most threatened by genetic erosion. Due to its sexual sterility and to the incidence of seed-borne diseases, historical varieties have been widely replaced by commercial cultivars. In Catalonia, despite the historical relevance of the crop, solely the Belltall garlic landrace is cultivated for commercial purposes.

We aimed to combine the versatility of ultrasmall gold nanoparticles (usGNP) with the target selectivity of cRGD peptide for the directed delivery of a cytotoxic payload in a novel design. usGNPs were synthesized with a modified Brust-Schiffrin method and functionalized via amide coupling and ligand exchange and their uptake, intracellular trafficking, and toxicity were characterized.

The results showed, with some exceptions, that sulfanyl - and sulfinyl - derivatives exhibited lower cytotoxicity for cancer cell lines than those of well-described sulfonyl N-oxide derivatives -. As for compound , the most pronounced selectivity (compared against BJ and MRC-5 cells) was observed for human cancer cells from HCT116 (human colorectal cancer with wild-type p53) and HCT116p53-/- (human colorectal cancer with deleted p53), as well as leukemia cell lines (CCRF-CEM, CEM-DNR, K562, and K562-TAX), lung (A549), and osteosarcoma cells (U2OS).

The aim of this study was to assess the effects of a mixture of four dietary fibers on obese rats. Four groups of male Wistar rats were fed with either standard chow (STD) or cafeteria diet (CAF) and were orally supplemented with either fibre mixture (2 g kg of body weight) (STD+F or CAF+F groups) or vehicle (STD+VH or CAF+VH groups). We studied a wide number of biometric, biochemical, transcriptomic, metagenomic and metabolomic variables and applied an integrative multivariate approach based on multiple factor analysis and Pearson's correlation analysis.

A novel pathway for the magnesiothermic reduction of boron oxide and magnesium dodecaboride (MgB) in the presence of carbon by a self-propagating high-temperature synthesis method was proposed that was aimed at the direct preparation of boron carbide nanopowder. The combined utilization of two boron sources, boron oxide and MgB, allowed tailoring the overall caloric effect of the process, increasing the yield of the target product and lessening the laborious leaching process. In addition, it is an alternative way to utilize magnesium borides, which are inevitable side products at boron production.

The photocatalytic behaviours of semiconductive ceramic nanoparticles such as TiO, ZnO, FeO, and FeO, have been extensively studied in photocatalysis and photopolymerization, due to their ability to produce radical species under ultraviolet-visible light, and even in dark conditions. In addition, in the form of microparticles, TiO and its Magnéli phases are capable of neutralizing radical species, and a heterogeneous catalytic process has been suggested to explain this property, as it is well known as scavenging activity. Thus, in this study, we demonstrate that these ceramic powders, in the form of microparticles, could be used as photoinitiators in UV polymerization in order to synthesize a hydrogel matrix.
