Unlabelled: Aim of the study was to validate 2D echocardiography (2DE) for quantifying left ventricular aneurysm (LVA). Assessment if the initial parameters of LVA size could predict the choice of surgical technique.
Material And Method: Group 1 consisted of 10 patients with LVA who underwent 2DE and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a reference method.
PTA was employed in 19 patients with impotency caused by vascular disorders. In 16 (84%) of the patients, potency was successfully restored. PTA treatment was applied only to those patients under 50 years of age in whom moderate and limited arteriosclerotic stenoses were diagnosed via DSA.

In the reported case eye fundus changes and symptoms suggested initially increased intracranial pressure. The cause of choked disc was recognized relatively late, after phlebography. Thrombosis of the upper ophthalmic vein causes papilloedema with or without haemorrhages on the disc and around it.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe site of androgen synthesis was determined in 21 women with polycystic ovary syndrome on the basis of radiographic studies, catheterization of ovarian and adrenal veins, and/or inferior vena cava samplings. Gradients of testosterone, androstenedione, and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate were determined by comparing the levels in adrenal and ovarian veins with those found in antecubital veins. In six patients, the adrenals were the predominant site of androgen synthesis.
