Graph Partitions in Chemistry.

We study partitions (equitable, externally equitable, or other) of graphs that describe physico-chemical systems at the atomic or molecular level; provide examples that show how these partitions are intimately related with symmetries of the systems; and discuss how such a link can further lead to insightful relations with the systems' physical and chemical properties. We define a particular kind of graph partition, which we call Chemical Equitable Partition (CEP), accounting for chemical composition as well as connectivity and associate it with a quantitative measure of information reduction that accompanies its derivation. These concepts are applied to model molecular and crystalline solid systems, illustrating their potential as a means to classify atoms according to their chemical or crystallographic role.

Comparative Effects of Deoxynivalenol, Zearalenone and Its Modified Forms De-Epoxy-Deoxynivalenol and Hydrolyzed Zearalenone on Boar Semen In Vitro.

Deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZEN) are described as detrimental factors to sow and boar fertility. In comparison, literature reports on the impact of modified forms of DON and ZEN, such as de-epoxy-DON (DOM-1) and hydrolyzed ZEN (HZEN), on swine reproduction are scarce. Pretibial cyst formation after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with poly-L acid screw fixation: a case report presentation and review of the literature.

A pretibial cyst after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a rare complication. This report presents a case of a subcutaneous pretibial ganglion with direct communication to the tibial tunnel, after ACL reconstruction with a quadrupled hamstrings tendon autograft, in a 26-year-old Caucasian male. The hamstrings tendon graft was fixed to the tibia using a 9-mm poly-L-lactide interference screw, 4 years earlier.

Fixed versus mobile bearing knee arthroplasty: a review of kinematics and results.

There are several total knee arthroplasty designs available with wide variation in features. Fracture at the stem-condylar junction of a modular femoral prosthesis in a varus-valgus constrained total knee arthroplasty.

Unlabelled: We present a rare case of fracture of the modular femoral component in a varus-valgus constrained total knee arthroplasty (TKA) prosthesis which occurred 2 years after implantation. Both femoral and tibial components underwent a second revision using a constrained hinged TKA. Laboratory analysis revealed insufficient metaphyseal bone stock in association with inadequate cement mantle incorporation which made implant fixation solely reliant on the intramedullary stem construct.

Total knee arthroplasty in severe valgus knee deformity: comparison of a standard medial parapatellar approach combined with tibial tubercle osteotomy.
