Background: Nurse practitioners (NPs) provide high-quality, comprehensive health care at Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical centers in various practice settings. Accurately determining the productivity of NPs is essential to understanding their overall contribution to veteran care. View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: To measure the prevalence of burnout among healthcare workers (HCWs) in primary care during the COVID-19 pandemic and to understand the association between burnout, job-person fit, and perceptions of the pandemic.
Methods: We surveyed 147 HCWs (73% response rate) in two clinics in the summer of 2020 on their burnout, job-person fit, perceptions of the pandemic, and demographic/job characteristics. Logistic regression analyses were conducted to explore relationships between these variables.
Background: Nurse practitioner (NP) autonomy is often misunderstood and misconstrued. These misconceptions cause a confusing interplay of words that impedes advocating for policy change and ultimately hinders the profession.
Objective: To develop a clear definition of NP autonomy to describe the professional role.
