Health surveillance among indigenous populations in the context of COVID-19: a scoping review.

The study aimed to identify protection strategies used by Indigenous peoples during the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyzing 56 articles from 2020 to May 2021 across four areas -community organization, governance, communication, and territorial approaches - it found that structural vulnerabilities shaped their responses. The spread of the virus was influenced by environmental, social, and cultural factors.

The response to COVID-19 in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico: challenges to national coordination of health policies.

The article analyzes the fight against COVID-19 in three Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. A multiple case study was carried out in a comparative perspective, based on a bibliographic review, documentary analysis, and secondary data, considering characteristics of the countries and the health system, evolution of COVID-19, national governance, containment and mitigation measures, health systems response, constraints, positive aspects and limits of responses. The three countries had distinct health systems but were marked by insufficient funding and inequalities when hit by the pandemic and recorded high-COVID-19 mortality.

The experience with volunteer and collaborative work in mental health and psychosocial care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brazil is the country of the world with the second most COVID-19 cases and deaths, and the pandemic's impacts pose multiple challenges for mental health. This paper reports on experience with the emergency organization of the volunteer and collaborative Working Group (GT, in Portuguese) on mental health and psychosocial care aimed at producing rapid responses for health services in the context of COVID-19. The study involved the identification and systematization of current evidence in the scientific literature on mental health and psychosocial care in public health emergencies and pandemics, with the establishment of a network involving 117 researchers and 25 institutions, and the organization of themes for the elaboration of materials, referenced on the response phases in public health emergencies and pandemics.

[Governance, intersectoriality and social participation in public policy: the National Council on the Rights of the Elderly].

Aging is a complex phenomenon that requires different types of public policies. In 2002, the National Council for the Rights of the Elderly (CNDI) was created as a governance structure to enhance the guarantee of rights through coordination between sectors of government and civil society. The article seeks to analyze the CNDI based on the description of the institutional configuration and characterization of its operation in the proposal of strategies for implementing and monitoring the main policies for the elderly.
