Background: The standardization of outcome measures is needed for comparing studies and using common measures in clinical practice. We aimed to identify cognitive and patient-reported outcomes and timing of assessment for glioma, meningioma, and vascular surgery.
Method: A consensus study was conducted.
Citrulline is a target analyte measured at expanded newborn screening (NBS) and its elevation represents a biomarker for distal urea cycle disorders and citrin deficiency. Altered ratios of citrulline with other urea cycle-related amino acids are helpful for the differential diagnosis. However, the use of cut-off values in screening programmes has raised the issue about the interpretation of mild elevation of citrulline levels detected at NBS, below the usual range observed in the "classical/severe" forms of distal urea cycle disorders and in citrin deficiency.

Objective: Three solid organ transplant recipients developed a widespread, progressive, violaceous, and hyperkeratotic skin eruption. All died from pulmonary and multiorgan failure around 1 year from onset of the rash.
Background: Sodium intake is known to contribute to the development of hypertension, thus intake reduction is a cornerstone in the prevention and management of hypertension. The increase in renal sodium excretion might represent a further potential preventive and/or therapeutic opportunity.
Objective: To explore the working hypothesis that an increased fluid intake can improve renal sodium handling towards a decrease in blood pressure.
The learning process in humans requires continuous contacts with environmental stimuli, especially during neurodevelopmental growth. These functions are assisted by the coding potential of mirror neurons to serve social interactions. This ability to learn imitating the observed behavior is no longer necessary during adulthood, and control mechanisms prevent automatic mirroring.

As patients with OCTD may frequently show poor treatment response, the aim of this multicenter study was to investigate rates and clinical correlates of response, remission, and treatment resistance in a large multicenter sample of OCD patients with versus without tics.
Methods: A sample of 398 patients with a DSM-5 diagnosis of OCD with and without comorbid TD was assessed from 10 different psychiatric departments across Italy.

BTD recycles the vitamin biotin, a coenzyme essential for the function of four biotin-dependent carboxylases, including propionyl-CoA carboxylase, 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase, pyruvate carboxylase, and acetyl-CoA carboxylase. Due to deficient activities of the carboxylases, BTD deficiency is also recognized as late-onset multiple carboxylase deficiency and is associated with secondary alterations in the metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates, and fatty acids.

A transesophageal (TE) echocardiography (E) with contrast study to rule out patent foramen ovale (PFO) was performed; two-dimensional (2D) analysis did not detect any bubbles passage during Valsalva manoeuvre in the standard 2D cross sectional planes; further real time three-dimensional (3D) TEE imaging revealed passage of bubbles in the left atrium (LA) by both real-time 3DTEE imaging and by the 2D unconventional cross-sectional planes allowed by 3DTEE imaging. Even though 2DTEE is considered to be the gold standard modality for diagnosing PFO, it has some limitations.
