Comparison of whole genome sequencing typing tools for the typing of Belgian Legionella pneumophila outbreaks isolates.

Whole genome sequencing (WGS) marks a turning point for outbreak investigations for microorganisms related to public health matters, like Legionella pneumophila (Lp). Here, we evaluated the available Lp WGS typing tools for isolates of previously documented Belgian outbreaks, as well as small groups of related and non-related isolates. One reference strain and 77 clinical and environmental isolates were evaluated.

Broth microdilution protocol for determining antimicrobial susceptibility of Legionella pneumophila to clinically relevant antimicrobials.

Previously, addition of isatuximab (Isa) to standard-of-care lenalidomide-bortezomib-dexamethasone (RVd) in transplant-eligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma in the GMMG-HD7 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT03617731) resulted in a significant increase of minimal residual disease negativity (MRD-) rates after induction therapy. Very high-average optical enhancement cavities (OECs) are being used both in fundamental and applied research. The most demanding applications require stable megawatt level average power of infrared picosecond pulses with repetition rates of several tens of MHz. Toward reaching this goal, we report on the achievement of 710 kW of stable average power in a two-mirror hemispherical optical enhancement cavity.

His follow-up is mainly noticeable for many recurrences affecting exclusively the inguinal and suprapubic soft tissues. The recurrences occurred early, and almost always contained immature tissue upon pathologic reading, which has never been described in the medical literature before.
