Objectives: Objective of this work was to examine myomiR levels in plasma, skeletal muscle, and skeletal muscle cells of patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM), their interrelations with the disease-related clinical phenotypes and with the effects of the disease-modifying 6-month training-intervention.
Methods: Samples of vastus lateralis muscle (n = 12/13) and plasma (n = 20/21) were obtained from IIM patients and healthy controls, respectively. Muscle and plasma were obtained before and after a 6-month training-intervention in 7 patients.

There is increasing knowledge in the recognition of individuals at risk for progression to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) before the clinical manifestation of the disease. This prodromal phase preceding the manifestation of RA may represent a "window of opportunity" for preventive interventions that may transform the clinical approach to this disease. Herein, we assessed the impact of exercise interventions on plasma Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) levels in 27 patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) compared with 23 IIM patients treated with standard-of-care immunosuppressive therapy only, and in 18 healthy subjects undergoing strenuous eccentric exercise, and their associations with the traditional serum markers of muscle damage and inflammation. In contrast to IIM patients treated with pharmacotherapy only, in whom we demonstrated a significant decrease in Hsp90 over 24 weeks, the 24-week exercise program resulted in a stabilization of Hsp90 levels.

Aims: To assess differences in estimated cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients from different world regions and to evaluate the management and goal attainment of lipids and blood pressure (BP).
Methods And Results: The survey of CVD risk factors in patients with RA was conducted in 14 503 patients from 19 countries during 2014-19. The treatment goal for BP was <140/90 mmHg.
Our previous study demonstrated that heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) is overexpressed in the involved skin of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and in experimental dermal fibrosis. Pharmacological inhibition of Hsp90 prevented the stimulatory effects of transforming growth factor-beta on collagen synthesis and the development of dermal fibrosis in three preclinical models of SSc. In the next step of the preclinical analysis, herein, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy of an Hsp90 inhibitor, 17-dimethylaminoethylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin (17-DMAG), in the treatment of established experimental dermal fibrosis induced by bleomycin.
