Auditory localization accuracy and auditory spatial discrimination in children with auditory processing disorders.

The present study investigated spatial hearing in children aged 6-12 years diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorders (APD) and compared their results to those of a group of control children matched in age. Sound source localization accuracy was quantified using an absolute localization task and sound source discrimination by measuring the minimum audible angle. Low- and high-frequency noise bursts were presented from eight loudspeaker positions in the left and right hemifields (0°, 30, 60°, and 90° azimuth).
