- Gun crime is getting worse, and police are trying to do something about it by creating Crime Gun Intelligence Centers (CGICs) to help solve these crimes.
- The study looked at how the Phoenix Police Department's CGIC helped solve more gun crimes by checking various data sources before and after the CGIC was set up.
- Results showed that after the CGIC started, the number of helpful leads and how quickly evidence was processed improved a lot, which means it helped police catch more criminals.
