COVID-19 in Patients with CKD in New York City.

Background: COVID-19 has affected millions of people, and several chronic medical conditions appear to increase the risk of severe COVID-19. However, our understanding of COVID-19 outcomes in patients with CKD remains limited.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of patients with and without CKD consecutively admitted with COVID-19 to three affiliated hospitals in New York City.

A second tubulin binding site on the kinesin-13 motor head domain is important during mitosis.

Kinesin-13s are microtubule (MT) depolymerases different from most other kinesins that move along MTs. Like other kinesins, they have a motor or head domain (HD) containing a tubulin and an ATP binding site. Interestingly, kinesin-13s have an additional binding site (Kin-Tub-2) on the opposite side of the HD that contains several family conserved positively charged residues.
