We report symmetric (vertex- and arc-transitive) embeddings of catenated rings, polyhedra and rods. Linked triangles form infinite families of structures, and we limit this report to only structures with each ring linked to three or six others. For linked squares, hexagons, tetrahedra, octahedra, cubes and rods, only a small number of symmetric structures were found, and all are reported.

Ladder graphs admit a maximum-symmetry embedding in which edges coincide. In folding ladders, there are no zero-length edges. We give examples of high-symmetry 3-periodic ladders, particularly emphasizing the structures of 3-periodic vertex- and edge-transitive folding ladders.

We established the merged-net approach, proffering optimal balance between designability and complexity, as a systematic solution for the rational assembly of multicomponent structures. In this work, by methodically mapping node-net relationships among 53 basic edge-transitive nets, we conceived a signature net map to identify merging net pairs, resulting in the enumeration of 53 merged nets.

This article describes the diffraction pattern (2-periodic Fourier transform) from the vertices of a large patch of the recently discovered `Spectre' tiling - a strictly chiral aperiodic monotile. It was reported recently that the diffraction pattern of the related weakly chiral aperiodic `Hat' monotile was 2-periodic with chiral plane-group symmetry p6 [Kaplan et al. (2024).

The 2-periodic vertex-, edge- and ring-transitive families of hexagonal Borromean rings are described in detail, and it is shown how these give rise to 1- and 3-periodic ring-transitive (isonemal) families. A second isonemal 2-periodic family is identified, as is a unique 3-periodic Borromean assembly of equilateral triangles.

Two- and three-periodic vertex-transitive (isogonal) piecewise-linear embeddings of self-entangled and interwoven honeycomb nets are described. The infinite families with trigonal symmetry and edge transitivity (isotoxal) are particularly interesting as they have the Borromean property that no two nets are directly linked. These also lead directly to infinite families of interpenetrating primitive cubic nets (pcu) that are also vertex- and edge-transitive and have embeddings with 90° angles between edges.

Methods: A systematic literature search was performed including randomised controlled trials (RCTs) comparing omega-3 versus placebo in the management of dry eye disease in human subjects. There were no language or time restrictions.

In these structures there is just one thread, or multiple threads with parallel or collinear axes. It is shown that the possible vertex-transitive tangles are either graphs of vertex-transitive polyhedra or bipartite vertex-transitive nonplanar graphs. European Commission also asked EFSA to provide approaches that would distinguish SEM occurring due to illegal treatment with nitrofurazone from SEM produced during food processing. The literature indicates that SEM, both free and bound to macromolecules, could occur also in food products such as gelatine, during food processing, arising from the use of disinfecting agents and/or from reactions of various food components and, therefore, SEM cannot be considered as an unequivocal marker of the abuse of nitrofurazone in animal production.

Overcoming poor readout is an increasingly urgent challenge for devices based on solid-state spin defects, particularly given their rapid adoption in quantum sensing, quantum information, and tests of fundamental physics. However, in spite of experimental progress in specific systems, solid-state spin sensors still lack a universal, high-fidelity readout technique. Here we demonstrate high-fidelity, room-temperature readout of an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy centers via strong coupling to a dielectric microwave cavity, building on similar techniques commonly applied in cryogenic circuit cavity quantum electrodynamics.

Purpose: Benefits of overnight attending radiologist final reports are debated, often stating low resident discrepancy rates, usually assessed retrospectively. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of overnight final reporting on the recall rates for patients in the emergency department (ED) receiving overnight imaging.
Methods: Retrospective matched cohorts of two separate years prior (prior-16 and prior-17) and 1 year after (post-18) introduction of overnight attending radiologist final reporting.

This work considers non-crystallographic periodic nets obtained from multiple identical copies of an underlying crystallographic net by adding or flipping edges so that the result is connected. Such a structure is called a `ladder' net here because the 1-periodic net shaped like an ordinary (infinite) ladder is a particularly simple example. It is shown how ladder nets with no added edges between layers can be generated from tangled polyhedra.
