: Neuropsychological, neurodevelopmental, or minimal cerebral dysfunctions (MCD) can be found in many patients with mental disorders. They can be masked by other symptoms, impair the course of the illness, and impair work and social participation. Despite a long history of research, there is still a lack of data on the spectrum, prevalence, and consequences of these dysfunctions in patients with chronic illness.

The prognostic effect of blast count in mutant myeloid neoplasms -the Minnesota experience.

In 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Consensus Classification (ICC) recognized as an entity-defining alteration in myeloid neoplasms, yet with differing criteria that could lead to discrepant diagnoses and affect clinical trial eligibility. We studied 67 patients with mutant myeloid neoplasms, reclassifying them using both criteria. While most cases fulfill the criteria for mutant defined entities, most discrepancies were found in cases with ≥20% blasts.

Pediatric TAFRO syndrome: A multi-institution case series illustrating clinical challenges and excellent outcomes.

A rare lymphoproliferative disorder involving thrombocytopenia (T), anasarca (A), fever (F), reticulin fibrosis (R), renal dysfunction (R), and organomegaly (O), called TAFRO syndrome, was first reported in 2010. Considered a variant of idiopathic multicentric Castleman's disease, the recent discovery and rarity of this syndrome pose challenges to diagnosis and management. Herein, we review three pediatric cases, including an infant, that illustrate the heterogeneity of TAFRO syndrome.

Increasing the Therapeutic Dosage by Combining Cognitive Behavior Group Therapy With a Monitored Self-Help Group.

A problem in psychotherapy is the limited availability of psychotherapists. This can not only delay the start of therapy but also curtail the number of sessions and the therapeutic dosage. An option to extend the therapeutic dose without an increase in therapist time may be to combine group psychotherapy with a self-help group.

Background: Many past and ongoing conflicts in the world are associated with memories. The role of emphatic memories is however often neglected in conflict solving. Therefore, this narrative review gives a short introduction to the phenomenon of emphatic memories and implications for counteracting dysfunctional effects of emphatic memories.

Application and pitfalls of immunophenotyping in challenging plasma cell neoplasms: A case series.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable malignant plasma cell neoplasm, representing the second most common hematopoietic cancer. As plasma cell neoplasms are clonal and often secrete a monoclonal protein (M-spike), laboratory diagnosis is usually straightforward, especially when ancillary studies such as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and protein electrophoresis are available in addition to microscopic examination. Despite the repertoire of diagnostic tools, rare cases pose diagnostic dilemmas, especially when reagent antibodies do not react as expected, extent of disease is patchy, or when disease occurs in unique age groups.

[Indication and Prevalence of Inpatient Psychosomatic-Psychotherapeutic Rehabilitation in Patients in Outpatient Psychotherapy Data from a Study on the Epidemiology of Care].

Background: Outpatient psychotherapy is qualitatively and quantitatively an important treatment option for patients with psychological disorders. Additionally, there is the option of inpatient care, including psychosomatic rehabilitation units. There is a lack of data on the cooperation between the ambulatory and the inpatient sector, and on which patients in outpatient psychotherapy have already been in psychosoamtic rehabilitation or should be admitted.

Enhancing hematopathology peripheral blood smear education through asynchronous video material: A pilot report.

This study explores the effectiveness of asynchronous video material as a supplementary educational tool for trainees in hematopathology. Traditional pedagogical methods often rely heavily on faculty involvement, potentially limiting the breadth of information trainees receive due to constraints in faculty time and the variety of cases covered in a limited time interval/rotation. Asynchronous video-based learning presents a potential solution to these challenges.

[Participation-oriented psychotherapy for patients with mental disorders who are able or unable to work : Results of a survey of practicing psychotherapists].

Background: Treatment of (chronic) mental disorders must focus on both reducing symptoms and improving social and work participation by social medicine treatments and counselling. The objective of this study was to compare psychotherapy patients who are fit or unfit for work to describe similarities and differences regarding patient status and interventions.

Methods: Interviews were performed with 73 cognitive behavior therapists and 58 psychodynamic psychotherapists about 188 and 134 recent cases they had seen, respectively.

Early life stress (ELS) is linked to an elevated risk of poor health and early mortality, with emerging evidence pointing to the pivotal role of the immune system in long-term health outcomes. While recent research has focused on the impact of ELS on inflammation, this study examined the impact of ELS on immune function, including CMV seropositivity, inflammatory cytokines, and lymphocyte cell subsets in an adolescent cohort. This study used data from the Early Life Stress and Cardiometabolic Health in Adolescence Study (N = 191, aged 12 to 21 years, N = 95 exposed to ELS).

Research on this topic is relevant for assessing the patients' ability to participate in work and social life and improving collaborative patient-clinician relationships.

Objectives: Novel histopathologic prognostic factors are needed to identify patients with follicular lymphoma (FL) at risk of inferior outcomes. Our primary objective was to evaluate the Ki-67 proliferative index in follicular and interfollicular areas in tissue biopsy specimens from patients with newly diagnosed FL and correlate with clinical outcomes. Multiple myeloma (MM) remains an incurable plasma cell (PC) malignancy. Although it is known that MM tumor cells display extensive intratumoral genetic heterogeneity, an integrated map of the tumor proteomic landscape has not been comprehensively evaluated. We evaluated 49 primary tumor samples from newly diagnosed or relapsed/refractory MM patients by mass cytometry (CyTOF) using 34 antibody targets to characterize the integrated landscape of single-cell cell surface and intracellular signaling proteins.
