Impact of the Guided Self-Determination Intervention among Adolescents with Co-Existing ADHD and Medical Disorder: A Mixed Methods Study.

Adolescents with ADHD are at increased risk of having a co-existing medical disorder. Research shows that having co-existing ADHD and a medical disorder interferes with the adolescents' daily life, creating a dual task that cannot be managed as two independent disorders. Interventions to support adolescents in managing the dual task of living with co-existing ADHD and medical disorder are needed.

A community-based intervention in middle schools to improve HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening in Japan.

Aim: Japan has low rates of cervical cancer screening and Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination. This research examines the effectiveness of a family medicine resident-led, intervention in increasing knowledge about HPV and cervical cancer in middle school-girls and increasing knowledge and intention to have cervical cancer screening in their mothers.

Methods: We utilized a pre-test/post-test intervention design in three rural middle schools with 7(th) grade middle school-girls and their mothers.

Use of a public film event to promote understanding and help seeking for social withdrawal.

Introduction: This study aimed to implement a public film event about mental health aspects of social withdrawal. Secondary aims were to assess participants' knowledge, attitudes, and intended behaviors related to social withdrawal.

Perceived barriers and facilitators of using a Web-based interactive decision aid for colorectal cancer screening in community practice settings: findings from focus groups with primary care clinicians and medical office staff.

Background: Information is lacking about the capacity of those working in community practice settings to utilize health information technology for colorectal cancer screening.

Objective: To address this gap we asked those working in community practice settings to share their perspectives about how the implementation of a Web-based patient-led decision aid might affect patient-clinician conversations about colorectal cancer screening and the day-to-day clinical workflow.

Methods: Five focus groups in five community practice settings were conducted with 8 physicians, 1 physician assistant, and 18 clinic staff.
