Retrospective Review of Transpulmonary Pressure Guided Positive End-Expiratory Pressure Titration for Mechanical Ventilation in Class II and III Obesity.

Objectives: Acute respiratory distress syndrome is treated by utilizing a lung protective ventilation strategy. Obesity presents with additional physiologic considerations, and optimizing ventilator settings may be limited with traditional means. Transpulmonary pressure (P) obtained via esophageal manometry may be more beneficial to titrating positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) in this population.

E-cigarette or Vaping Product Use Associated Lung Injury Among Three Young Adults: A Retrospective Case Series From Delaware.

Background: E-cigarette or vaping associated lung injury (EVALI) is a lung disease associated with an inflammatory response to the vaping fluid. Currently, diagnosis remains elusive without definitive biomarkers.

Case Presentation: Herein, we describe three cases of EVALI among 18- to 21-year-old patients ranging from mild to severe.

Pulmonary crystal-storing histiocytosis diagnosed by computed tomography-guided fine-needle aspiration.

Crystal-storing histiocytosis (CSH) is a rare process most often occurring in conjunction with an underlying hematopoietic neoplasm, usually multiple myeloma or low-grade B-cell lymphoma. We report the first case of pulmonary CSH diagnosed by fine-needle aspiration biopsy. A patient with a history of urothelial carcinoma developed a lung nodule, which was evaluated by fine-needle aspiration biopsy.

Granular cell tumor of trachea.

Granular cell tumors of the tracheobronchial tree are rare benign lesions of neurogenic origin. These benign tumors mostly involve the skin, oral cavity, or esophagus. There is no consensus regarding treatment of granular cell tumors.

Incidental pleural-based pulmonary lymphangioma.

Adult benign thoracic lymphangiomas typically present as incidental mediastinal lesions, or, more rarely, as solitary pulmonary nodules. Symptomatic compression of vital structures may require lesion resection or sclerotherapy. In the present report, we describe the incidental finding of a solitary pleural-based pulmonary lymphangioma in a 38-year-old woman with chronic arm and shoulder pain.
