Purpose: The application of lithium is well known to have an antimanic-depressive effect, however, the influence it has on the human brain is still insufficiently known. The aim of our work is to develop a method to investigate the lithium concentration in the human brain with a very high sensitivity and a submillimeter resolution. Present methods either do not provide spatial resolution or are not sensitive enough to measure the naturally occurring lithium content in the human brain.

Methods: A total of 210 patients were retrospectively analyzed regarding CRP values, infections, histological type, stage, performance status, gender, age, body mass index and survival. Additionally, in 88 of these patients, changes of CRP values were correlated with response to chemotherapy by radiographic imaging.
In the past decade, rituximab in combination with polychemotherapy has become the standard approach in most patients with advanced CD20-positive B-cell lymphoma. In mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, rituximab has been used as monotherapy and in combination with various chemotherapy regimens in different treatment situations. Routinely, rituximab is given intravenously, but other routes of administration have also been described.
