Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a widespread and deadly form of cancer. Prostaglandin 15-deoxy-Δ-12,14-prostaglandin J2 (15d-PGJ2) possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. However, it is unclear whether this effect on LUAD progression stems from its ability to influence macrophage polarization.

Disease burden and related risk factors of esophageal cancer in China and globally from 1990 to 2021, with forecast to 2035: An analysis and comparison.

Introduction: In this study we estimate the burden of esophageal cancer (EC) in China and globally from 1990 to 2021, with a forecast to 2035, using Global Burden of Disease (GBD) data. We also analyze the related risk factors to investigate burden trends.

Methods: Mortality, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), crude rates, and age-standardized rates of EC were analyzed in China and globally from 1990 to 2035, utilizing GBD open data as a secondary dataset analysis of GBD data.

Benefits and Relevant Risk Factor Assessment of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in Combination with Surgery in Limited-Stage Small-Cell Lung Cancer.

To illustrate the benefits of surgery in conjunction with neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with limited-stage small cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC), and to evaluate risk factors affecting patient's survival. Forty-six LS-SCLC patients who received surgery in our center from September 2012 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Twenty-five patients with LS-SCLC diagnosed after surgery who received postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy were classified into control group, and 21 patients with LS-SCLC who received preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy were classified into observation group.

A meta-analysis was conducted to assess the application of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) screening, and mutation detection. A comprehensive literature search was conducted. The summary sensitivity and specificity for cfDNA in NSCLC diagnosis, and mutation detection were calculated.

1-o-acetylbritannilactone (ABL) inhibits angiogenesis and lung cancer cell growth through regulating VEGF-Src-FAK signaling.

The search for safe, effective and affordable therapeutics against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other lung cancers is important. Here we explored the potential effect of 1-o-acetylbritannilactone (ABL), a novel extract from Inula britannica-F, on angiogenesis and lung cancer cell growth. We demonstrated that ABL dose-dependently inhibited vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced proliferation, migration, and capillary structure formation of cultured human umbilical vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs).

Video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy (VATSL) has developed rapidly. As per the requirements of tumor staging and oncotherapy, the technique of VATS mediastinal lymph node dissection plays an important role. With our experience, lymph node dissection can be performed very well on the condition that surgical process and skills be optimized.
