Daytime radiative cooling dissipates heat from surfaces by reflecting sunlight and emitting infrared radiation to outer space, featuring zero-energy consumption. Wood-based coolers have received more attention due to their high infrared emissivity, sustainability, and low cost. However, they often degrade under ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure, resulting in a poor cooling efficiency.

Male , which display distinct morphological and physiological traits, exhibit greater adaptability to stressful environments than females. However, the connection between this adaptability and rhizosphere processes remains unclear. Here, we investigate the differences in root bacterial community structures between male and female plants at different developmental stages, identifying bacterial strains associated with plant sex through functional predictions.

To clarify the change mechanism of biological activity and physicochemical characteristics in Lacticaseibacillus paracasei JY025 fortified milk powder (LFMP) during storage, morphological observation, JY025 survival, storage stability, and metabolomics of LFMP were determined during the storage period in this study. The results showed that the LFMP had a higher survival rate of JY025 compared with the bacterial powder of JY025 (LBP) during storage, which suggested that milk powder matrix could reduce strain JY025 mortality under prolonged storage in the LFMP samples. The fortification of strain JY025 also affected the stability of milk powder during the storage period.

Maxim is an emerging oil plant species. Understanding its microecological characteristics and internal mechanisms can serve as a basis for field management and the screening and application of growth-promoting bacteria during the growth phase of young trees. This study used three-year-old young to analyze the tree's root morphology, soil, and leaf nutrient status variations from May to October.

Objective: During the lockdown of cities and home quarantine, media became the only way for people to conveniently get coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19)-related information. And media engagement was closely related to psychological outcomes. But fewer researchers took COVID-19-related posting behaviors into consideration.

Ejectors have been widely used in multi-effect distillation, thermal vapor compression (MED-TVC) desalination systems due to their simple structures and low energy consumption. However, traditional fixed geometry ejectors fail to operate under unstable working conditions driven by solar energy. Herein, a dynamic auto-adjusting ejector, equipped with a needle at the nozzle throat, is proposed to improve the ejector's performance under changeable operating conditions.

The dry reforming of methane (DRM) is a new potential technology that converts two major greenhouse gases into useful chemical feedstocks. The main challenge faced by this process is maintaining the catalyst with high catalytic activity and long-term stability. Here, a simple and effective preparation route for the synthesis of functional nanomolecular sieve catalysts (NiRuCZZ5) from kaolinite tailings was developed for dry reforming of methane with CO.

Here in this article, a halloysite nanotube/reduced graphene oxide/cobalt nickel composite (HNT/rGO/CoNi) was synthesized by co-precipitation and subsequent calcination processes. The microstructure, morphology, and chemical composition of the as-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, Raman spectra, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The electromagnetic absorption performances of the composites/paraffin wax hybrids were tested in the frequency range 2-18 GHz.

Blood oxygen is an essential component for numerous biological processes of mammalian animals. Milk production of ruminants largely relies on the supply of nutrients, such as glucose, amino acids and fatty acids. To define the regulatory role of blood oxygen availability in regard to milk production, seventy-five healthy Guanzhong dairy goats with similar body weight, days in milk and parities were selected.

During the initial outbreak of COVID-19 in China, people spent a lot of time viewing or listening to COVID-19-related media content. And according to the conservation of resources theory, COVID-19-related media exposure would be related to multiple psychological outcomes, and different contents would have different associations with different psychological outcomes. Therefore, the present study aimed to clarify these relationships and find out the most important psychological outcome correlated with COVID-19-related media exposure.

The genus Cronobacter is an opportunistic food-borne pathogen which is able to adapt to diverse environments and shows considerable genetic diversity. Genomic analysis can be used to reveal the variation across the genus with respect to virulence, drug resistance and factors involved in horizontal gene transfer mechanisms, such as integrons, conjugative plasmids, and recombinases. In this study, whole-genome comparative analysis of 27 Cronobacter genomes (12 existing and 15 newly assembled genomes) was performed.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of supplementing N-carbamoylglutamate (NCG), an Arg enhancer, on amino acid (AA) supply and utilization and productive performance of early-lactating dairy cows. Thirty multiparous Chinese Holstein dairy cows were randomly divided into control (CON,  = 15) and NCG (CON diet supplemented with NCG at 20 g/d per cow,  = 15) groups at 4 wk before calving. Diets were offered individually in tie-stalls, and NCG was supplemented by top-dress feeding onto total mixed ration for the NCG group.

CoO nanorods with diameters of ~0.15 μm and lengths of ~1 μm were prepared using a hydrothermal method via the assembly of microcrystals and tested in the catalytic oxidation of toluene. The catalytic performance of CoO nanorods was improved by the addition of Ag at various concentrations, and the 7% Ag/CoO catalyst achieves a toluene conversion of 90% at 256 °C with a space velocity of 78,000 mL g h, which is much lower than that of the pristine CoO (269 °C).

Objective: This study was conducted to enhance our understanding of nitrogen (N) metabolism and mammary amino acid (AA) utilization in lactating cows with divergent phenotypes of residual feed intake (RFI).

Methods: Fifty-three multiparous mid-lactation Holstein dairy cows were selected for RFI measurements over a 50-d experimental period. The 26 cows with the most extreme RFI values were classified into the high RFI (n = 13) and low RFI (n = 13) groups, respectively, for analysis of N metabolism and AA utilization.
