This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram to predict the risk of metabolic syndrome in PLWH receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) in China, accounting for both traditional and HIV-specific risk factors.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted among PLWH receiving ART at a designated treatment center in Yinzhou District, China.

Objective: The optimal treatment for retrograde ascending aortic dissection (rAAD) remains unclear. In this study, the long term clinical outcomes of endovascular treatment for rAAD were retrospectively investigated, and haemodynamic remodelling of the ascending aorta was analysed.
Methods: This retrospective, single centre study analysed clinical data of rAAD cases treated with endovascular therapy from 2001 - 2020.

Isoflavones are abundant antioxidant components in soybeans. UV-B radiation can induce the biosynthesis of isoflavones in soybean suspension cells, but the underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear. The transcriptome analysis revealed that UV-B radiation influenced the biosynthesis and signal transduction of the phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) during the biosynthesis of isoflavones in soybean suspension cells.

In this study, bench-scale granular activated carbon (GAC)-based biologically active filtration (BAF) systems were developed to metabolically degrade 1,4-dioxane at environmentally relevant levels (<1000 μg L). BAF was established using predeveloped biologically activated carbon particles by mixing a 1,4-dioxane-degrading microbial community with granular activated carbon.

DCM-Mor-Gal could effectively distinguish hepatocellular cells (HepG2) from SGC7901, HeLa, A549, and human normal liver cells (HL-7702) under the mediation of the galactose group, and effectively aggregate in the lysosomes under the acidity-alkalinity attraction, showing a notable dual-targeting potential of hepatocytes and lysosomes. The zebrafish experiments confirmed the utility of DCM-Mor-Gal in detecting β-Gal in vivo, which is expected to be an effective tool for the clinical detection of related diseases.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 248 older adults with chronic diseases who were admitted in a district tertiary hospital, Shenzhen, China from January to December 2022. The participants completed the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics questionnaire, the Mini Nutritional Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF), the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale (PSQI).
Background: According to statistics, the incidence of proximal gastric cancer has gradually increased in recent years, posing a serious threat to human health. Tubular gastroesophageal anastomosis and double-channel anastomosis are two relatively mature anti-reflux procedures. A comparison of these two surgical procedures, tubular gastroesophageal anastomosis and double-channel anastomosis, has rarely been reported.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the metabolic mechanism between proinflammatory diet and breast cancer risk.
Compared to traditional preservatives, photodynamic inactivation (PDI) offers a promising bactericidal approach due to its nontoxic nature and low propensity for microbial resistance. In this paper, we initially investigate the principles and antibacterial mechanisms underlying PDI. We then review factors influencing PDI's germicidal efficacy in food preservation.

Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 167 patients with CLTI and infrapopliteal who underwent endovascular intervention with or without chocolate balloons from September 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023. The primary endpoint was amputation-free survival (AFS).
Compared with traditional biological control, the co-use of entomopathogenic fungi and multiple enemies has made great progress in biocontrol technology. However, the risk posed by entomopathogenic fungi to their host has not been fully evaluated. Further, the interaction between them has not described adequately.

Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a rare, progressive steno-occlusive disease of the intracranial carotid arteries. Coronary artery disease associated with MMD has been described in several cases. Coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stent implantation were performed mainly for MMD patients with myocardial ischemia caused by coronary stenotic lesions.

Methods: We systematically searched for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Science Direct from inception to April 2024. These trials compared antibiotic use rates between groups receiving vitamin D supplements and placebo.
Three-dimensional confined self-assembly (3D-CSA) of block copolymers (BCPs) is a distinctive and robust strategy that can yield colloidal polymer particles boasting ordered internal structures and diverse morphologies. The unique advantage of neutral interface lies in its ability to create anisotropic particles with surface patterns. The resulting unique polymer particles exhibit deformability under swelling, coupled with excellent spreadability and optical properties.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of dual-wavelength laser combined with bioceramics material iRoot SP on molar root canal treatment.
Methods: A total of 104 patients receiving root canal treatment from January 2020 to June 2023 were selected and divided into control group and experimental group according to random number table method, with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with iRoot SP paste, and the experimental group was treated with dual-wavelength laser(Nd:YAG and Er:YAG) combined with iRoot SP paste.
The accurate evaluation of denitrification rate and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission in field-scale woodchip bioreactors for onsite wastewater treatment are problematic due to inevitably varied environmental conditions and underestimated GHG production with limited analysis of dissolved gas in field samples. To address these problems, batch incubation experiments were conducted with controlled conditions to precisely evaluate the denitrification kinetics and NO and CH emission of both gaseous and dissolved phases in fresh (6 months) and aged (5 years) woodchip bioreactors treating onsite wastewater at high (1-3 mg L) and no (0 mg L) dissolved oxygen (DO) levels. NO removal rate decreased from 37.

Therefore, in this study, we aimed to determine whether the combination of trametinib with BEZ-235 exerted synergistic effects against NSCLC in both in vitro and in vivo models, and we preliminarily explored the effect of this combination therapy on glucose metabolism. Our results showed that trametinib combined with BEZ-235 could better inhibit cell proliferation and colony formation, induce G0/G1 phase arrest and apoptosis, and suppress cell invasion and migration compared with the single agent.
