Long-term clinical outcomes in older patients with acute venous thromboembolism who have renal impairment.

Introduction: Renal impairment (RI) may induce an inflammatory/procoagulant state as well as platelet dysfunction. Little is known on the prevalence of RI and long-term prognosis of older patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE) who have concomitant RI.

Methods: In a prospective multicenter cohort, we analyzed 912 patients aged ≥65 years with acute VTE.

A cross-sectional study of Swiss ambulatory care services use by multimorbid patients in primary care in the light of the Andersen model.

Background: Multimorbidity is frequently encountered in primary care and is associated with increasing use of healthcare services. The Andersen Behavioral Model of Health Services Use is a multilevel framework classifying societal, contextual, and individual characteristics about the use of healthcare services into three categories: 1. predisposing factors, 2.
