Interprofessional relationships and their impact on resident hospitalizations in nursing homes: A qualitative study.

Aim: The aim of this study is to explore experiences and perspectives of nurses and providers (e.g., physicians, medical directors, fellows, and nurse practitioners) on reducing preventable hospitalizations of nursing home (NH) residents in relation to interprofessional relationship and hospitalization decision-making process.

A risk scoring system to predict progression to severe pneumonia in patients with Covid-19.

Rapid outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) raised major concern regarding medical resource constraints. We constructed and validated a scoring system for early prediction of progression to severe pneumonia in patients with Covid-19. A total of 561 patients from a Covid-19 designated hospital in Daegu, South Korea were randomly divided into two cohorts: development cohort (N = 421) and validation cohort (N = 140).

Lessons from a COVID-19 hospital, Republic of Korea.

Objective: To document the experiences of converting a general hospital to a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) designated hospital during an outbreak in Daegu, Republic of Korea.

Methods: The hospital management formed an emergency task force team, whose role was to organize the COVID-19 hospital. The task force used different collaborative channels to redistribute resources and expertise to the hospital.

Certified Nursing Assistants' Barriers and Facilitators to Accessing and Using Worksite Health Promotion Programs.

Objective: Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) are low-wage healthcare workers who provide direct care to nursing home residents, yet also experience significant health disparities. However, limited research has been conducted on CNAs' perceived barriers and facilitators to workplace health promotion (WHP) participation.

Method: Informed by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), 24 CNA semi-structured, in-depth interviews were conducted in two Chicagoland nursing homes.

Independent Early Childhood Education Centers' Experiences Implementing the Revised Child and Adult Care Food Program Meal Pattern Standards: A Qualitative Exploratory Study.

Background: Nationally, approximately one-third of early childhood education centers participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) are independently owned and operated (ie, not owned by a corporation, not affiliated with Head Start, and with no food program sponsor). Independent providers are less likely to meet CACFP standards and best practices and would benefit from additional support and technical assistance.

Objective: To explore independent early childhood education center key informants' (KIs) (ie, directors or relevant staff) perspectives on implementing the revised CACFP standards.

Impacts of expanding provider choice for free flu vaccination among the elderly in Korea.

The Korean government, to increase the vaccination rates, implemented the policy expanding provider choice for free seasonal influenza vaccine for the elderly through contracting the provision of immunization to the private sector in 2015. Using the annual nationally representative individual between 2014-2017, this study explores the impacts of the policy change by using a difference-in-differences approach. Results show that influenza vaccine uptake at private clinics increases by 12 percentage points after the policy change.

Barriers to and Facilitators of Stocking Healthy Food Options: Viewpoints of Baltimore City Small Storeowners.

Receptivity to strategies to improve the food environment by increasing access to healthier foods in small food stores is underexplored. We conducted 20 in-depth interviews with small storeowners of different ethnic backgrounds as part of a small-store intervention trial. Store owners perceived barriers and facilitators to purchase, stock, and promote healthy foods.
