For decades, in-person data collection has been the standard modality for nationally and sub-nationally representative socio-economic survey data in low- and middle-income countries. Purpose Of Review: The Dobbs vs Jackson case (Dobbs) decided by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in 2022 rescinded the constitutional right to abortion care, resulting in immediate state bans and severe restrictions on abortion care in almost half of the states at the time of submission. This article reviews the current state of abortion education and training as well as available curricula and programmes to support continued training.

Recent Findings: Prior to Dobbs, a national residency-level training programme, the Ryan Residency Training Program, has helped expand abortion care training in residency programs nationally, yet there remained many barriers to incorporating this training into practice, including practice and hospital restrictions.

Heavy alcohol consumption is a known risk factor for various forms of dementia and the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this work, we investigated how intragastric alcohol feeding may alter the liver-to-brain axis to induce and/or promote AD pathology. Four weeks of intragastric alcohol feeding to mice, which causes significant fatty liver (steatosis) and liver injury, caused no changes in AD pathology markers in the brain [amyloid precursor protein (APP), presenilin], except for a decrease in microglial cell number in the cortex of the brain.

Antifreeze proteins (AFPs), found in many cold-adapted organisms, can protect them from cold and freezing damages and have thus been considered as additional protectants in current cold tissue preservation solutions that generally include electrolytes, osmotic agents, colloids and antioxidants, to reduce the loss of tissue viability associated with cold-preservation. Due to the lack of toxicity profile studies on AFPs, their inclusion in cold preservation solutions has been a trial-and-error process limiting the development of AFPs' application in cold preservation. To assess the feasibility of translating the technology of AFPs for mammalian cell cold or cryopreservation, we determined the toxicity profile of two highly active beetle AFPs, DAFP1 and TmAFP, from Dendroides canadensis and Tenebrio molitor in this study.

In this work, we present a novel camera array that exploits the electronic rolling shutter to achieve high speed compressive temporal imaging. Traditional compressive temporal imaging makes use of mechanical coded apertures, despite implementation and calibration challenges. Instead, we propose to model the inherent spatial and temporal coding provided by the distinctive rolling shutter sampling from each camera of the array as a compressive temporal imaging system matrix.

Compressive Spectral Imaging (CSI) is an emerging technology that aims at reconstructing a spectral image from a limited set of two-dimensional projections. To capture these projections, CSI architectures often combine light dispersive elements with coded apertures or programmable spatial light modulators. This work introduces a novel and compact CSI architecture based on a deformable mirror and a colored-filter detector to produce compressive spatio-spectral projections without the need of a grating or prism.
